In addition, S uparlan identified the characteristic extensive meaning of education such as; life long education which is mean that the education runs from one generation to the next generation, it is a lifetime process; education happened in all human part of life, such as in economy, technology, law etc; education take place in anywhere and anytime; the last, the main object of education is human develop themselves in their live.

A ccording to J Halstead values refers to standards, principles, fundamental convictions, ideals, or life stances which act as general criterion to behavior or as points of standard in decision-making or the

E ducational value is an education that concerned with the development of the total personality of the individual intellectual, social, emotional, aesthetic, moral and spiritual. It covers developing sensitivity to

E ducational value not only can be found in academic processed but also can be found in anywhere or anything. It means that to learn the value not only can be obtained through the formal education but also can be achieve by non-formal education such as from the dail y activity, literature, or experiences.

d. T ype of E ducational V alue

A ccording to E lmubarok educational value are divided into two types:

1) V alue of B eing

T he value of being is a value that exists in human being and then evolved into the behavior and the way we treat others. It can be seen as follows:

a) Honesty

Honesty is a human attitude when they were faced with something or phenomenon and then tell the truth of the information without change it. It also can be defined as an attitude or behavior that appear and comes from our deep heart.

T he characteristics of honesty are telling the truth when he is asked about something, often connoted with the positive attribute

such as integrity, straightforwardness, says what he/she thinks and believes to be right. In this movie, honesty can be measured from the statement and action that the actor says and do.

b) B ravery

B ravery is one of the human attitudes that shows human’s courage and fearlessness. It can also be defined as the attitude that occurs from someone who dares to try or do something tough or difficult.

c) Peace

Peace can be defined as a harmony in human natural live where there is no enmity or conflicts. T he concept of peace can be described as the values including respecting the distinction of features such as race, religion, gender, physical appearance, and age.

Peace can also be interpreted as a calm and patient attitude. T his attitude tends to try accepting other people’s opinions rather than denying and opposing against it.

d) C onfidence and Potential

C onfidence and potential are a human attitude appears as boundaries awareness of their ability. C onfidence can be defined as the manner to feeling sure of yourself. C haracteristic of confidence is believed in themselves. It means that confident people strongl y believe that their life fulfills a special important purpose in the

world. T hey definitely know their strengths and have accepted their weakness. Potential people can be defined as someone or something that is capable to developing into the particular kind of person or thing mentioned.

e) D iscipline

D iscipline is an attitude gotten from their habit. It is a pattern of behavior that you create where you should choose to do what things you should do instead of what things you want to do.

D iscipline also can be defined as a human consistency, commitment, consequence, or agreement to do something relate to the rules that has been agreed.

f) Purity

Purity is the condition or quality of being pure, morall y clean without blemish. It refers to something that is not mixed with any other elements, that is uncontaminated in any way or a person who has no sins or a person who down to earth.

2) V alue of giving

T he values of giving are the values that need to be applied or given and then be accepted as a given value. V alues of giving can be seen as follows:

a) L oyalty

L oyalty is a condition or quality of being loyal, faithfulness to commitments or obligations. L oyal can be showed to famil y, to the school, to work, and to organizations and other institutions that are responsible to us. A loyalty people usually ready to help, ready to support, ready to serve and trusted in carrying out consistent promises.

b) R espect

R espect is a way of treating or thinking about someone or something elicited by their achievement, abilities or qualities. It also defined as an act where shows that you are aware of someone’s right, wishes etc. R espect can be applied for property rights, respect for elders, respect for the father and mother, respect for nature, and respect for the beliefs and rights of others civilized, polite behavior or even respect to yourself. C haracteristics of respect are treating other people with respect such as respect their feelings, wishes or tradition, do not use bad language, be tolerant and accepting of differences, use good manners, deal peacefull y with anger, insults, and disagreements.

c) L ove and A ffection

L ove and affection are a positive feeling of human being for express to other people or things. L ove is more than just a loyal and respectful. It can be shown to our friends, neighbors, partner, families, etc. A ffection can be defined as a feeling or liking and caring for someone or something.

d) Unselfish

Unselfish is a feeling where you care and considers to others people. It is one attitude where you show more care or attentions to others, learn to feel the togetherness and compassion toward others.

It is usuall y shown by expressions such as empathy, tolerance, and brotherhood.

e) K ind and F riendly

K ind is a good manner of people to others or things. It can be shown by tenderness, especially on the younger or weaker.

F riendl y usually means that someone’s behaviors that shows the characteristics of a friend such as helpful, affectionate and being kind. It capable of making new friends and maintain friendships.

f) F air and Humane

F air is a manner of treating someone in a way that is right or reasonable, or treating a group of people equally and not permit

your personal opinion to influence the judgment. Humane is characterized by compassion, kindness, tenderness and sympathy for people or things. It is the point of view of the natural consequences and the l aw of cause and effect.

A ccording to the explanation above, the researcher takes

conclusion that there are many educational values which can build students’ character. E ducational values are not only can be found in a formal education, but also it can be found everywhere such as from friends, famil y, environment, or literature like on a movie.
