BAB V

SIMPULAN DAN SARAN 5.1 Kesimpulan

Koagulan berbahan dasar batang pisang telah berhasil dibuat dengan penjemuran selama 1 minggu dan pemanasan selama 60oC selama 6 jam. Berdasarkan hasil karakterisasi FT- IR koagulan batang pisang mengandung beberapa gugus fungsi, diantaranya hidroksil (O-H), hidrokarbon (C-H), karboksil (COO- double bond), karboksilat (-COOH), amina (C-N), dan C-O. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa dosis optimum koagulan sebesar 5 mg/L dan waktu settling selama 90 menit. Penggunaan koagulan berhasil menurunkan nilai kekeruhan, pH, TDS, DHL, CO2, HCO3-, Cl-, Ca2+, CaCO3, SO42-, Mn, dan Zat Organik secara berturut-turut hingga sebesar 4,44 NTU; 7,92; 68,00; 135,3; 5,87; 80,52;

4,30; 17,07; 55,61; 4,87; 0,01 dan 1,21 mg/L dengan persentase penurunan sebesar 87,42; 3,06; 27,65; 27,84; 44,41; 21,57; 38,13; 21,44; 20,38; 31,21; 95,46 dan 15,38 %.

Lampiran B. Pengujian Adsorpsi B.1 Pembuatan Larutan Standar KNO3

Larutan standar dibuat dengan cara menimpang gram padatan KNO3 menjadi konsentrasi tertentu dengan menggunakan rumus Molaritas sesuai persamaan:

M = n V Keterangan:

M = Konsentrasi larutan induk (M)

V = Volume larutan induk yang dibutuhkan (mL) n = molar

Larutan induk KNO3 0,2 M dibuat dengan cara menimbang 2,02 gram padatan KNO3, dilarutkan dengan aqua DM dalam labu ukur 100 mL hingga tanda batas, lalu dihomogenkan.

Massa padatan KNO3 dapat dihitung sebagai berikut:

M = n V n = 0,2 M x 0,1 L

n = 0,02 mol Massa = n x Mr KNO3

Massa = 0,02 x 101 Massa = 2,02 gram

Pembuatan larutan standar 0,4M, 0,6M, 0,8M, 1,0M menggunakan cara perhitungan seperti pembuatan larutan standar KNO3 0,2 M sehingga didapatkan data pada Tabel B.1.
