Perseroan membentuk tim penanggulangan karhutla yang terdiri dari 1.200 petugas pemadam kebakaran bersertifikat di seluruh wilayah operasionalnya.

Sarana dan prasarana penanggulangan kebakaran seperti mobil pemadam, alat pemadam api ringan, pompa air, serta alat pelindung diri juga dipersiapkan sesuai dengan peraturan pemerintah yang berlaku.

Pengamatan titik api dari satelit, pengawasan dari Menara Pantau, serta patroli intensif di lapangan terus dilakukan sehingga perseroan dapat mengidentifikasi secara dini bahaya potensi karhutla. Pembuatan sumber air dan akses infrastruktur juga dipersiapkan untuk mendukung keberhasilan penanggulangan kebakaran.

Dalam sistem manajemen karhutla di area konsesi, Perseroan juga melibatkan peran masyarakat sekitar.

Hal ini karena wilayah usaha perseroan yang berada ditengah lahan masyarakat. Hingga tahun 2020, perseroan membina 88 Kelompok Masyarakat Peduli Api (MPA) yang tersebar diseluruh anak usaha perseroan.

Pada tahun ini, kondisi pandemi Covid-19 sangat berdampak pada program antisipasi karhutla. Untuk mengatasi situasi tersebut, perseroan terus melakukan beberapa terobosan seperti tetap menerapkan protokol Kesehatan dengan memanfaatkan teknologi seperti patroli api yang di bantu oleh UAV (Drone). Saat ini perseroan memiliki 29 unit Drone dengan berbagai tipe sesuai dengan kondisi di lapangan. Perseroan juga mengembangkan program sosialisasi karhutla kepada masyarakat sekitar dengan layanan pesan singkat mengenai bahaya karhutla secara periodik.

The Company also set up forest and land fire-fighting teams made up of 1,200 certified firefighters throughout its operational areas. The fire-fighting infrastructure and facilities provided include fire engines, light fire extinguishers, water pumps, and personal protective equipment (PPE) following prevailing government regulations. Observation of fire points by satellite, monitoring from observation towers, and intensive patrols in the field are continuously carried out so that the Company will receive early warning of a potential forest and land fire. The Company also prepared sources of water and infrastructure access to support its efforts in combating these fires.

In the forest and land fire management system, the Company also included the role of the surrounding communities, since its concession areas are located amidst the people’s lands. Up to 2020, the Company assisted 88 groups of Care for Fire Communities (Masyarakat Peduli Api) spread across all subsidiaries.

Particularly during this year, the forest and land fire anticipation program was seriously affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. To overcome the situation, the Company introduced several innovations, among others the strict implementation of health protocols, make use of technology such as drones (UAV) for fire patrols. Currently, the Company owns 29 drones of various types to suit the conditions in the field. The Company also developed an information dissemination program on the dangers of forest and land fires for the surrounding communities using short message services periodically.

Sertifikasi ISPO

Sertifikasi Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) merupakan mandat wajib yang diberikan pemerintah Republik Indonesia kepada seluruh pelaku bisnis kelapa sawit, baik kepada perusahaan maupun smallholder. Tidak sekadar menjalankan kewajiban, program Sertifikasi ISPO yang dijalankan oleh perseroan merupakan bentuk komitmen terhadap kebijakan berkelanjutan.

Dengan mendapatkan setifikat ISPO, Perseroan telah melaksanakan prinsip-prinsip ISPO yang terdiri atas kepatuhan terhadap peraturan perundang-undangan; penerapan praktik perkebunan yang baik; pengelolaan lingkungan hidup, sumber daya alam, dan keanekaragaman hayati; tanggung jawab ketenagakerjaan; tanggung jawab sosial dan pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat; penerapan transparansi; serta peningkatan usaha secara berkelanjutan.

Sebanyak 38 unit usaha perseroan telah mendapatkan sertifikat ISPO sampai dengan akhir tahun 2020.

Perseroan terus berupaya untuk mendapatkan sertifikat ISPO pada seluruh unit usaha perseroan.

Penghargaan PROPER

Perseroan menunjukan kepatuhan terhadap pengelolaan lingkungan melalui sertifikasi PROPER (Program Penilaian Peringkat Kinerja Perusahaan dalam Pengelolaan Lingkungan Hidup). PROPER merupakan sertifikasi untuk menunjukkan peran perusahaan yang memiliki potensi/risiko dalam meningkatkan pengelola lingkungan serta memberikan efek stimulan dalam pemenuhan peraturan lingkungan.

Pada tahun 2020, terdapat 3 anak usaha Perseroan menerima penghargaan PROPER Hijau tingkat provinsi yang menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan usaha yang dilakukan Perseroan telah sesuai dengan peraturan perundang-undangan yang berlaku, terutama pada bidang pengelolaan lingkungan. Tidak hanya itu, penghargaan PROPER Hijau juga menunjukkan Perseroan telah melaksanakan program efisiensi energi dan juga program-program CSR.

Sebanyak 23 anak usaha Perseoran mendapatkan penghargaan PROPER Biru tingkat nasional yang menandakan ketaatan terhadap seluruh peraturan perundangan-undangan pada bidang pengelolaan lingkungan.

Astra Green Company

Perseroan yang merupakan salah satu bagian dari Grup Astra diharuskan untuk memenuhi standar dan kriteria pengelolaan lingkungan serta K3 (LK3) dalam Astra Green Company (AGC). Sistem ini menilai kinerja Perseroan dari aspek strategi, proses, produk dan karyawan. AGC juga menilai kinerja Perseroan dari awal proses pembukaan lahan sampai dengan pengolahan CPO. Dengan mendapatkan AGC, Perseroan telah menjalankan usaha dengan mematuhi prinsi- prinsip ramah lingkungan.

Tahun ini, satu anak usaha Perseroan mendapatkan sertifikat hijau dan satu anak usaha Perseroan mendapatkan sertifikat biru.

ISPO Certification

Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certification is mandated by the government of the Republic of Indonesia to all palm oil business operators, applicable to both companies and smallholder farmers. The Company has been carrying out the ISPO Certification program not only as a mandated obligation but also to confirm its commitment to sustainability.

By obtaining an ISPO certificate, the Company has implemented the ISPO principles which consist of compliance with laws and regulations; implementation of good plantation practices; management of the environment, natural resources, and biodiversity;

manpower responsibilities; social responsibilities and community economic empowerment; implementation of transparency; also continuous business improvement.

By the end of 2020, 38 of the company's business units have obtained ISPO certifications. The Company continuously strives to obtain ISPO certification for all of its business units.

PROPER Award

The Company showed its compliance towards environmental management through PROPER (Company Performance Rating Program in Environmental Management) certification. PROPER is a certification showing the role of companies that have potential/

risks in improving environmental management and providing stimulant effects in compliance with environmental regulations.

In 2020, three of the Company's subsidiaries received the Green PROPER award at the provincial level, which shows that the business activities carried out by the Company are following applicable laws and regulations, especially in the field of environmental management.

The Green PROPER award also shows that the Company has implemented an energy efficiency program as well as CSR programs.

A total of 23 subsidiary companies received the PROPER Blue award at the national level, which signifies compliance with all laws and regulations in the environmental management sector.

Astra Green Company

Being part of the Astra Group, the Company is required to satisfy the standards and environment management criteria and the K3 (LK3) set by the Astra Green Company (AGC). This system assesses the performance of the Company from several aspects such as strategies, processes, products and laborforce. AGC also assesses the performance of the Company starting from the land clearing process to the CPO management. By obtaining an AGC, the Company has conducted business in compliance with environmentally friendly principles.

This year, one subsidiary of the Company received a green certificate and one subsidiary received a blue certificate.
