The researcher found the students’ negative perception of the online media used by teacher in learning English. Students feel bored and think learning is less fun because the teacher is not creative in applying online media when teaching. This is also one of the reason for not digesting the learning material properly and making the learning situation fail during a pandemic like this. This is shown in the following extracts:

A lot of time, energy and costs are wasted while learning goals cannot be achieved, even noise occurs in communication between teachers and students.

One of the obstacles in online learning during the covid-19 pandemic was the burden of buying quota. Online learning requires a large quota and this is very burden some for students. Moreover during the covid-19 this also had a major impact on all aspects of life, including the economy. Just imagine a family affected by lay off, will experience economic difficulties. In additional their children who go to school have to take online lessons at a cost of buying a quota which is quite expensive. This is one obstacles for

students when doing online learning. This is shown in the following extracts:

S3 : Online learning or online learning is a teaching and learning process that utilizes the internet and digital media in delivering material. For now, online learning is very important during the Covid 19 pandemic. In current conditions it is not possible to learn face-to- face, our efforts are to break the chain of spreading the spread of Covid 19 and technology plays an important role in carrying out the online learning process such as handphone, laptops and others. But there are still some students who don't have all of that because they don't have enough money to buy them because of a pandemic like this, many people are experiencing an economic crisis. Many people have experienced layoffs and there are still many other complaints seen by students such as the absence of fees to buy quotas, as we know without a quota we cannot connect to the internet and are very much needed in online learning like now. In addition, there were some students who complained that they did not understand if they were only given material without explanation and gave a lot of assignments. So that over time students will feel bored plus not being able to meet friends at school.

5) Unstable network (network constrains)

This is of course a challenge in itself for educational institutions that are not accustomed to implementing the learning process online, coupled with areas that have limited or even unavailable internet network access, making these applications inaccessible and hindering the online learning process.
