Exhibit #4
1. The Advertising Manager reported comparative figures showing net revenue and lineage for January 1959 through November 1959, compared with December 1959 - January 1960 through November 1960. These comparative figures follow:
January 1959 through November 1959, net revenue was $75,725.19, with lineage of 41,021; December 1959 - January 1960 through November 1960, net revenue is $68,630.08, with lineage of 35,493.
The combined December 1959 - January 1960 issue showed a net revenue of
$3,628.55. Compared with this, the combined December 1960 - January 1961 issue., which will not be closed until November 28, shows a net revenue of over $8j500.oo. This combined December 1960 - January 1961 revenue, as well as charges will be applied to 19610
The Advertising Manager further reported that THE KIWANIS MAGAZINE carried 109 advertisers in 1959. Fifty-six of these 1959 advertisers have repeated in 1960. In 1960., there were
66
new advertisers, making a total 0£ 122 ad- vertisers inTHE
KIWANIS MAGAZINE for 1960. In 1959 there were 46 mail-order advertisers. Fourteen of these mail-order advertisers have repeated in 1960.In 1960, there were 14 new mail-order advertisers, making a total of 28 mail- order advertisers in THE KIWANIS MAGAZINE for 19600
2. The Committee discussed with the Advertising Manager the results of the inno- vation for selling THE. KIWANIS MAGAZINE, THE ROTARIAN, and THE LION markets in concert. Also a review was made of literature which has been designed for this objective. It is unders.tood that in selling the "Big Three.,11 each
service publication retains its individual identity, and sells this combined market of more than 1,200,000 unduplicated readers based on individual rate structures.
The automotive industry was approached with this idea this past May, and though interest was shown by automobile advertisers, results from the "com- bination sell" so- far have not been forthcoming. However, the same combined effort has been directed to cigarette advertisers with a much more promising reaction. Definite interest has already been shown.by P Lorillard, through

its agency, Lennon & Newell, for the poss:ibili ty of Ufl,ing back cover posi- tion in 4-color process for eight issues in
196L
The Advertising Manager reports that in many instancE2, "viihen THE KIWANIS MAGAZINE market has been exposed to prospecte,, the I'eaction has been that,
should THE KIWANI8 MAGAZINE market be bought, th(" :ELdvertiser would also consider buying both TRE ROTARIAN and :IHE LION simul ta.neoue,ly" The 11Big Three II are further devising S/Etles promotion literature direct eel expre.ssly to office eg_uipment advertisers since, in e.evE:ral insb:mces, interest has been shown in a simultaneous purchase for each of tJleiSe three leading service publications.
3.
The Cammi ttee discussed. in «ietail with the AdvertLsing Manager prospective accounts for196l.
It is felt that THE KIWANIS MAGAZUlE will carry a con- siderable inc~rease in national prestige advert:Lserr~ prima.ri.ly in the office eg_uipment,, office supplies, employee group insu:r0a:nce.9 and company fleet truck fields.4.
The Cammi ttee is assured that there is no c;urre:nt with ad,vertising copy acceptance. The Advertising Manager conti.nually screen:3 all advertisers., and stri yes toward. directing his efforts to .solicitation of' quality adver- tising. The Committee has :no recorrilllerniations¢
