Student problems when speaking English based on interview

From interview results of researchers and sample 5, it can be said that these pronunciation errors are caused by the use of the dominant language of sample 5 in which Indonesian and Ambonese are often used, while English is only used when learning English. From the researcher's interview results with a sample of 20, it is known that he was from Gowa, but his parents are from Java and Makassar, where the language is used by his family and comes out of the sample of 20 every day. Indonesian, but he said the first language didn't really affect speaking in football.

He has been living in Makassar since birth and the language used is Indonesian and he also refuses that the first language will affect speaking English. From interviews with example 4, he said that the influence of the first language Indonesian has on example 4 when speaking English is still influencing. It is known that sample 12 felt influenced when speaking English because it was influenced by the first language.

The findings of the study 13 interviews showed that he rarely uses English, the most used language in both social languages is Indonesian and Buginese. Based on the results of the research from example 4, some errors were found in the pronunciation of the word that is work, hear. Based on the findings of this study, several errors in the pronunciation of the words from example 7 were found in the words lang, try, meal. Based on the results of the study, several errors were found in sample 9, including the words name, meet, was, work, great, fun.

Based on the above findings, if related to the research of Sayuri (2016), it is said that the commonly found errors occur due to the lack of vocabulary, pronunciation, use of grammar and also the mindset of the students, which caused a lack of self-confidence. Based on the research results obtained from sample 10, they found some errors in the pronunciation of the word, which is the word work, really, hear. The influence of the first language on the second language showed low acquisition. which if we connect with the above findings that the error is in pronunciation. in sample 10, it is influenced by the first language, which causes a misunderstanding of English, so that errors occur.

Based on the results of a study of sample 12, a speech error was found that is exactly the pronunciation of the word large. And as the results above we associate with research of Gopur (2008) who says that the pronunciation error in sample 12 is due to the fact that we do not know the correct transcription and lack of practice in pronouncing words which also supports is from the interview where he argues that the influence of the first language still affects when English will be spoken. Based on the results of the study, which was carried out in sample 15, found some pronunciation errors in sample 15, namely the words name, what, was, work, pleasure.

The results of the sample 20 study revealed some errors in the pronunciation of words in sample 20, including the words great, often, busy, different.
