In May, a Kiwanis International Board of Directors meeting was held at the general office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Special Governing Committee on Standard Form for Interim District Bylaws The committee's report is attached as Exhibit #8.

WORLD FRIENDSHIP

The International Board of Trustees, districts or chartered clubs must submit all proposed resolutions to the Secretary of Kiwanis International at least sixty (60) days prior to the date of the annual convention. Within two weeks thereafter, the International Committee on Resolutions11 will meet to consider such proposed resolutions and any resolutions that the Committee may make.

HELPING HANDICAPPED PEOPLE

The International Committee on Resolutions meets immediately before the next meeting of the International Board of Trustees. The International Board of Trustees and the Resolutions Committee have the right at any time to.

2o To improve communication among the men of the Kiwanis Council by sharing information and programs and. Support with hours and funding for those volunteer and non-profit organizations that meet the needs of people with disabilities.

THE SCOUTING MOVEMENT

Therefore, be it resolved that the delegates assembled at this 1983 Kiwanis International convention express the great loss experienced by the entire organization in the passing of this amiable gentleman whose dedication, leadership and contributions had a lasting impact on the large organization he led . As the closing hours of the 68th annual Kiwanis International Convention draw near, everyone involved begins to understand that they have witnessed history in the making.

That Kiwanis Clubs along with the organ procurement agencies work together in the

MANDATORY SENTENCING OF DRUNK DRIVERS

AS PEOPLE that Kiwanis International, through its district and clubs, has been invited to participate in this humanitarian task of distributing food to the hungry and malnourished people in the poor areas of the world.

HEARING IMPAIRMENT

Kiwanis Clubs everywhere encourage insurance companies and government to recognize hearing devices as necessary

At that time, the International Committee on Resolutions so perfectly expressed the international character of Kiwanis in its Preamble. This year's International Decision Committee adopts that preamble as expressing its views of the true internationalism of ·Kiwanis.

PREAMBLE

We must take action on the report of the special study committee to clarify the agreement between Kiwanis International and Kiwanis International and Europe; 2. We must take definitive steps in the matter of the administration of the Kiwanis clubs in French-speaking Africa.

The committee recommends eliminating the new clubhouse as one of the reportable projects in the Multiple Services category of the Club's Annual Report. The Committee recommends that in the future the Chairman of the Committee should present the report of the Meeting of the Committee of Achievements to the relevant Committee of the Liaison Board.

The President may appoint special assistants, individuals or committees, to serve at his discretion to assist him in his administrative responsibilities, where he will improve the functioning of the international structure. It shall be the responsibility of the President to outline the areas of work of such assistants or committees and their terms shall expire at the end of each administrative year or at such time as the President determines, in his year, that the responsibilities have been fulfilled.

Within the club, the Main Emphasis Committee is responsible for the selection, planning and implementation of the "Enriching the World of Handicapped" projects. The project "Enrich the world of the handicapped" should be useful and enjoyable for all participants.

Unless your club is already involved in a major activity benefiting disabled children and young people, it is unlikely that you know who all the disabled people are or how you can serve them. Start by talking to several people who are likely to know who the disabled are and what agencies and institutions in the community serve them.

The official program of the Congress, approved by the Board of Directors, is the agenda for all sessions. All resolutions submitted thirty (30) days prior to the date of the district assembly shall be forwarded to the Com.

ARTICLE XIII

NAME AND EMBLEM

The Bylaws of the Kiwanianne Club and the policies and procedures adopted by the Kiwanis International Board of Directors, as hereinafter amended or supplemented. Any reimbursement of the costs of sponsorship of the Kiwanianne Club by the Kiwanianne Club will be made as agreed between the clubs.

ARTCLE II PURPOSES

This organization shall be known as the Kiwanianne Club. This name may not be changed unless permission is first obtained from the sponsoring Kiwanis club and the board of directors of Kiwanis International.

Any member may withdraw from this club provided that all her debts to the club have been paid and all club property in her possession has been returned. Bylaws must, after a majority vote of the board (quorum required), be suspended or removed from membership, as provided in the bylaws, and must be notified by the secretary.

ARTICLE VII MEETINGS

Such notice, if in writing, shall be deemed to have been given when it is in the mails and. addressed to the member at her address appearing on the club records at the time of posting. If neither the president nor the vice-president is present, the attending Council members choose one of them to preside at the meeting.

ARTICLE VIII OFFICERS

All officers shall assume their official duties on the first day of October of each year and shall serve for a term of one (1) year or until their successors are duly elected and qualified. Except as otherwise specifically provided in this Constitution or the Bylaws, the duties of the officers shall be as specified in Robert's Rules of Order, as last revised.

ARTICLE IX BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board of Directors will present an annual report of its activities to the members and to the sponsoring Kiwanis Club.

Net revenues received from fundraising projects in which the public participates and monies donated by members or others specifically for the club's community service activities shall be separated from the club's administrative resources and may be used only for such community service activities. By accepting Kiwanis International's Certificate of Organization and Recognition, and each member, by accepting membership in this club, this club agrees to be bound by Kiwanis International's procedures regarding the Kiwanianne Club program, the terms of these articles of association and the.
