- Controllable pitch propeller operation
- General clutch procedure
Specification of fuel consumption data without engine-driven pumps; an additional consumption of 1% must be calculated for each pump installed. The engine can be started, stopped and run on heavy fuel oil under all operating conditions. The lubricating oil treatment system (lubricating oil separator) remains in operation, the lubricating oil is continuously separated.
The engine cooling water operating temperature is maintained by the cooling water preheater. During the test drive in the yard, the engine speed can be increased ÌÊ>ݰʣäÈʯÊvÊÌ iÊÀ>Ìi`Êëii`ÊvÀÊ>ݰʣÊ. The design area for the combiner should be to the right of the theoretical propeller curve and may coincide with the theoretical propeller curve in the upper speed range.

- Foundation
- External foundation forces and frequencies
- Rigid mounting
- Installation of flexible pipe connections
- Notes regarding installation exhaust system
- Installation of crankcase ventilation on the engine
- Earthing of the engine
- Lifting of the engine
Caterpillar Motoren recommends that just above the center of the turbocharger a lifting rail is fitted with a trolley to which a lifting gear can be fitted to carry out the work on the turbocharger according to the maintenance plan. T increases the weight on one side and decreases it on the other side by the same amount. The effect of these forces and moments on the ship's foundation depends on the type of engine mount.
When installing the engine on steel blocks, the top plate must be built diagonally outward from the centerline of the engine. These components must compensate for the dynamic movements of the generator set with respect to Ì iÊiÝÌiÀ>Ê««}ÊÃÞÃÌi°.
