The Students‟ Reading Achievement
Talebi (2015) states that reading is one of the important skills in the language learning process because students can add knowledge and information when reading a text. According to Nacer (Nacer Bouhedjam, 2015), reading is one of the most important ways of learning because it is also related to literacy and civilization development. Reading is the most important skill for future success in school and throughout life.35.
Reading is one of the essential and essential components that language learners need to learn not only for their academic practice but also for their future professional life. Intensive reading is a carefully performed reading activity that aims to increase and improve critical reading skills in order to lead to higher understanding. Intensive reading aims to develop students' ability to understand texts by directing students' attention to text features and strategies for dealing with the text.
The classic procedure for intensive reading is the grammatical translation approach, where the teacher works with the students. Brown explains that extensive reading is done to gain a general understanding of a typically somewhat longer text (books, long articles or essays, etc.). Extensive reading is an activity to find extensive information, which means it takes time to read the text quickly.
Surface reading or superficial reading is basically a reading activity to gain a superficial or not too deep understanding of the reading material we read.

Many years later, Malin Kundang's ship landed on the small beach where he grew up. His mother, who had been sad and lonely without him, heard the news and ran to the beach to meet her beloved son. What does a man do to a bird because the bird cannot say the name of a place.
When the young man returned home, he found that Takahama had passed away, and he returned to his mother and told her what he had seen in the cemetery. Takahama went to the cemetery every day, whether the air was fragrant with summer breeze or thick with falling snow.
