This research aimed to know whether or not the impromptu speech method develops the students’ speaking skills at 3rd semester Speaking for Intermediate BG-3G Class in terms of pronunciation and fluency. This research was from December 2019 from 15 students of 3rd semester Speaking for Intermediate BG-3G Class.
This research used an experimental quantitative method and the instruments were pre- test, treatment, and post-test. The aim of the pre-test was to know the students’ prior’s skills in speaking, treatment was applied to treat the students by using Impromptu Speech method to develop the students’ speaking skills, and post-test was used to find out the students’ speaking improvement. It was used to check the result of treatment and it was also useful to know whether the impromptu speech method can develop the students’ speaking skills in terms of pronunciation and fluency, while The sample of this research was selected purposively.
The findings of the research showed the results of the students’ pre-test, treatment, and post-test that there was a significance after using the impromptu speech method to develop students’ speaking skills in terms of pronunciation and fluency. In other words, it can be concluded Impromptu Speech is one of the methods that can be considered in teaching in order to help the students’ interest in speaking skills.

Ulfiyah Azzahra, 2020. Mengembangkan keterampilan berbicara siswa melalui metode pidato dadakan di semester 3 Mata Kuliah Speaking for Intermediate Kelas BG-3G (Sebuah studi Eksperimental). Pembimbing: Bahrun Amin dan Eka Prabawati.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah metode berpidato dadakan dapat mengembangkan keterampilan berbicara siswa di semester 3 Mata Kuliah Speaking for Intermediate Kelas BG-3G dalam hal pengucapan dan kelancaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari Desember 2019 dari 15 siswa semester 3 Mata Kuliah Speaking for Intermediate Kelas BG-3G.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif eksperimental dan instrumen yang digunakan pre-test, treatment, dan post-test. Pre-test digunakan untuk mengetahui keterampilan siswa sebelumnya dalam berbicara, treatment digunakan untuk melatih mahasiswa dengan menggunakan metode Pidato Dadakan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berbicara siswa, dan post-test digunakan untuk mengetahui peningkatan berbicara mahasiswa. Itu digunakan untuk memeriksa hasil treatment dan juga berguna untuk mengetahui apakah metode bicara dadakan dapat mengembangkan keterampilan berbicara mahasiswa dalam hal pengucapan dan kelancaran, sementara pemilihan sampel dilakukan secara purposive.
Temuan penelitian menunjukkan hasil pre-test, treatment, dan post-test mahasiswa bahwa ada signifikansi setelah menggunakan metode Pidato Dadakan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berbicara siswa dalam hal pengucapan dan kelancaran. Dengan kata lain yang dapat disimpulkan Pidato Dadakan adalah salah satu metode yang dapat dipertimbangkan dalam mengajar untuk membantu minat siswa dalam keterampilan berbicara.
