This study aimed to find out the effect of using Listen and Draw game on Students’ listening skill at SMP Negeri 15 Tanjungpinang. A pre-experimental design was used as the design of the study with one group of seventh grade of SMP Negeri 15 Tanjungpinang with 25 students as a sample of the research.

A pre-test was run at the beginning of the study and followed by an introduction and understanding of the use of Listen and Draw in the process of students’ listening descriptive text as the treatment. A post-test was also administered at the end of study. The pre and post-test score then were analyzed by using SPSS 21 to find the mean score between the two scores. Then a paired sample t-test was also run to answer the research hypothesis.

The results of the research showed that the Listen and Draw game is an effective technique in the teaching and learning process to improve the students’

listening skills, this is indicated by a significant difference in the mean scores between pre and post-test, there was an increase from 66.00 to 90.40. Thus, it concluded that the implementation of Listen and Draw game as a learning technique on students at SMP Negeri 15 Tanjungpinang had a significant effect in improving students’ listening skills.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari penggunaan Listen and Draw game terhadap keterampilan mendengarkan siswa SMP Negeri 15 Tanjungpinang. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan desain pra eksperimen dengan satu kelompok siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 5 Tanjungpinang dengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 25 siswa.

Pre-test dijalankan di awal pembelajaran dan dilanjutkan dengan pengenalan dan pemahaman penggunaan Listen and Draw dalam proses menyimak teks deskriptif siswa sebagai perlakuan. Sebuah post-test juga diberikan pada akhir penelitian.skor pre dan post-test kemudian dianalisis dengan mengguankan SPSS 21 untuk mencari rata-rata skor antara kedua skor tersebut. Kemudian dilakukan uji-t sampel berpasangan untuk menjawab hipotesis penelitian.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa permainan Listen and Draw merupakan teknik yang efektif dalam proses belajar mengajar untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak siswa, hal ini ditunjukkan dengan adanya perbedaan rata- rata skor yang signifikan antara pre dan post-test, ada peningkatan dari 66.00 menjadi 90.40. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan permainan Listenand Draw sebagai teknik pembelajaran pada siswa SMP Negeri 15 Tanjungpinang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keterampilan menyimak siswa.
