The research aimed at finding out students' vocabulary mastery in terms of accuracy noun (Animals, School equipment, Fruits, and Parts of body) by using Feature analysis strategy. The Effectiveness by using Feature Analysis Strategy to Improve Students' Vocabulary Mastery at the Eighth Grade.
This research used a pre-experimental research. The researcher conducted a treatment for 4 meetings at the eighth grade students' of SMPN 4 Takalar in the academic year of 2016/2017. The sample was selected from the population by using purposive sampling technique. The instrument used pre-test and post-test was the matching test by using picture.
The test findings indicated the achievement of the eighth grade students' of SMPN 4 Takalar was improved after using feature analysis strategy. It was proven by mean score of vocabulary about noun (Animals, School equipment, Fruits, and Parts of body) from 37.22 in pre-test became 56.29 in post-test. The improvement reached 51.24%. The result of t-test was 10.430 and the t-table was 2.056. It mean that the result of t-testwas greater than t-table (10.430 > 2.056).
The writer concluded that, teaching English vocabulary by using Feature Analysis Strategy was effective and it also mean that the alternative hypothesis was accepted and null hypothesis was rejected.
