Release nearest life-buoy or activate emergency alarm, inform bridge
Release life-buoy from bridge wing on side the person has fallen overboard, or on sighting person in water
Notify Master and rescue boat crew, sound general emergency alarm
Take immediate avoiding action so as not to run over the person in water
Push “MOB” button on GPS. Note ship’s position, wind speed and direction
Commence recovery maneuver such as Williamson’s Turn
Post a lookout with binoculars to maintain a continuous watch on the person in water
Hoist the flag “Oscar”
Inform engine room
Place engines on stand by and inform CE Prepare rescue boat / lifeboat for possible launching
Rig pilot ladder/nets to assist in recovery Switch VHF to appropriate channel Broadcast URGENCY MESSAGE to vessels in vicinity
Notify Management Center
