Therefore, the writer decides to choose a qualitative method to know how the students are the general structure of writing descriptive text on the blog. In this case, the researcher applied a case study because the writer wants to examine students who write descriptive text, especially in generic structure on the student blog among the students of the English Department of Metro's State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN). Through this research, the writer wants to help other researchers learn more about the generic structure of students writing descriptive text on the student blog, which is what the students always did.
Based on the above explanations, the writer used blog as a medium in the research, the writer focused on endeavoring to find a solution to the problem that came from students who wrote descriptive text on the students' blog. In this research, the writer applied the case study because the writer wants to explore the general structure of students who write descriptive text in the student blog among the students of the English Department of the Metro State Institute for Islamic Studies. To comply with such stipulation, Dean of Tarbiyah Faculty of Metro IAIN Raden Intan Bandar Lampung consulted with Regional Leader TK Regent. The decision is based on SK Direktur Jendral Pendidikan Tinggi Islam No: Dj.I/220.C/2007 May 28, 2007 on legalization of performing S1 of English Major in IAIN Metro. In the context of IPO (input, process and output), TBI major of IAIN Metro can be briefly described as follows.
Therefore, adequate number of lecturers, control system and good assessment, applicable curriculum, good academic atmosphere hopefully become the interdependent elements that strengthen the educational process in TBI Major by IAIN Metro.

The result of this research is that students who used blog as a medium in the writing activity already master the writing process, especially in descriptive text. In other words, the good writing of descriptive text dominant within ten text on the students' blog.
Proper use of the generic structure will help the students become a good writer because the good writer always kept a close eye on the types of generic structure. Using blog in writing descriptive text is an invaluable tool, although they are understood, but there are some students who have not understood the types of generic structure.
