The project will establish a three-year program using an Agriscience Institute for quality agricultural and science teacher teams, preferably from the same high school. During the institute, the teams will develop new hands-on instructional materials for use in their classrooms, using Fast Plants and Bottle Biology. The current FFA Creed negatively impacts the majority of students entering agricultural science and technology programs. The article "FortheBirds" (page 22, August-September 1990) incorrectly lists the sponsor of the Wildlife Management Proficiency Award. For the past four years, the Prudential Foundation has sponsored this award, not the FFAGen.
Chemical poisons are not a good option, he said, partly because of concerns about sensitive equipment and partly because the space center is located in a wildlife refuge. Male and female wasps release sex chemicals, orpheromones, to attract each other. Landolt said he will work with the chemist to produce those scents, which will be used in a male-female trap.

By all the history books, Annie Oakley could do things with a gun that would leave more than a few jaws in disbelief even today. You can help meet this responsibility by enrolling in a hunter safety or shooting safety course. Stephen took out a junior agricultural loan through the Montana Department of Agriculture. “It's a program that tries to encourage agricultural development in the state and help people get started.” Stephen sells most of his livestock through private sales. “Because my father has an annual bull sale, I have an immediate, direct market for registered and some commercial bull calves,” says Stephen. Most of his sheep buyers are repeat customers. “Most of my customers prefer to buy direct from me because it gives them the opportunity to visually inspect the herd mates, facilities and ancestry of the herd,” Stephen explains.

"We spent the next four months fixing and cleaning everything up," says Eldred. His father, a construction contractor, helped the brothers repair and upgrade the facilities.
In addition to his own farming operation, Lotter does custom plowing and baling and works as a laborer for other farmers. “This hands-on experience has been very helpful in increasing my knowledge and confidence levels, and has also helped me raise more capital,” he says.

The winners of the Farm Business Management competition, KimTruong, DuaneFreelsand Brian ZerrofKingdomCity, Missouri, had to choose the competition team's practice, school, sports and work that they prepared for the competition. As a member of the school track team, Free worked out an arrangement with his coach where he would practice farm management after school while the track team was also practicing. He would then take to the road and practice by himself, running alone. Along with being on the FFA winning national team, he went on to the FFA winning national team. Note that everyone is so understanding, especially with family members. Tensions can run high. Even with all her responsibilities, Bader felt guilty because she felt she wasn't contributing enough around the house.
Bader emphasizes that success in a competition team, in a certain goal, depends on a person's attitude and appetite for excellence." they just want to set themselves up for achievement.

Asignon Highway 136, near Princeton, Missouri, is part of the public relations for their research farm. Advisor Gutshall and chapter officers Aimee Stamper, Mona Cox and Mike Rogers worked with the community. Out of this era of hard times came an offer from an anonymous individual to purchase a farm and rent it to the school so that agricultural students could grow and study alternative crops and production methods. The offer was studied by the high school's agricultural department advisory committee of local farmers and businesspeople. Dennis Gutshall, agriculture instructor and FFA advisor, says the farm has endless possibilities, the most important of which is an opportunity for students to explore agriculture who otherwise wouldn't have had the opportunity. 'I walk around the grounds and see all kinds of different programs: an exhibition centre, horticulture, cow sand and ponds.'

As a result, many current and former FFA members have a strong emotional connection to the current faith. “I believe our organization needs some things that it can keep with tradition,” said Kevin White, vice president of California. The proposed credo honors America's heritage of armaments while broadening its scope to include all careers in agriculture. Most of the values found in the current creed can also be found in the proposed creed, but formulated in modern terminology and style. The third paragraph of the proposed creed introduces a strong emphasis on individual responsibility for the environment that is not reflected in the current creed. The outcome of the credo decision and other convention matters will be reported in the December-January issue of FFA New Horizons, the convention proceeding, which will cover each FF chapter at the end of the national convention, and beyond.
