How Does Empowerment Effect as A Mediator Between Psychological Climate and Employee Well-Being in Pandemic Covid-19?

ABSTRACT
The transition period for the Covid-19 pandemic has a negative impact on the tourism sector, especially in the aviation sector. The spread of the virus, which has an erratic timeframe, has prompted the government to implement certain policies to tackle the spread of the virus. This phenomenon affects employee well-being in aviation workers. To determine psychological empowerment as a mediator of the relationship between psychological climate and employee well-being. Using quantitative research with simple mediation regression method and incidental sampling technique. 352 employees working in the aviation sector. EWB Scale, by Pradhan and Hati (30 items, a = .907); Psychological Climate questionnaire (PCq) by Brown and Leigh (20 items, a = .911); Psychological Empowerment questionnaire (PEq) by Spreitzer (12 items, a = .849). Mediation regression analysis using PROCESS V4.0 Procedure for SPSS by Andrew F. Hayes. The results show that psychological empowerment is able to act as mediator between relationship psychological climate and employee well-being (.429;
p<.001). Psychological empowerment can improve relationship between psychological climate and employee well-being. This research can be used as an additional reference for airline companies to understand psychological climate, psychological empowerment, and employee well-being of their employees.
