Speaking is one of the basic competences that should be mastered by English learners. There are some methods for teaching speaking, and one of them is dalily conversation. Al Azhaar Senior High School Kedungwaru Tulungagung is a school that practice daily conversation program. It's interesting because this school is the only school that apply daily conversation program to improve students speaking skill. Therefore, the researcher feels important to conduct the research about The Implementation of Daily Conversation Program to Improve Students’ Speaking Ability at 10th Grade of Al Azhaar Senior High School Kedungwaru Tulungagungin Academic Year 2022/2023.

There were two statements of research problem in this research. The first problem was how does the implementation of daily conversation program to improve students’ speaking ability at 10th grade of Al Azhaar Senior High School Kedungwaru Tulungagung?. The second was how does the implementation of daily conversation program improves students’ speaking ability at 10th grade of Al Azhaar Senior High School Kedungwaru Tulungagung?

The method used in this research was the qualitative descriptive method.

The object of this research was the English teacher and the students of Al-Ahzar SHS. The data of this research is obtained by interviewing the English teacher and the students. The procedure of data analysis were: 1) Collecting the data, 2) Data reduction, 3) Interpreting the data, and 4) Conclusion drawing.

Based on the data analysis, the researcher found three activities to improve students’ speaking ability. The first was giving material. The teachers prepare the material the day before the students practicing the daily conversation. The second was giving example. The teachers give th example to the students about the function of daily conversation material. The last is giving reward. Therewad given by the teacher so that students are more motivated to speak English.

Berbicara merupakan salah satu kompetensi dasar yang harus dikuasai oleh pembelajar bahasa Inggris. Ada beberapa metode untuk mengajarkan speaking, dan salah satunya adalah dalily conversation. SMA Al Azhaar Kedungwaru Tulungagung adalah sekolah yang menerapkan program daily conversation. Hal ini menarik karena sekolah ini adalah satu-satunya sekolah yang menerapkan program daily conversation untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa. Oleh karena itu, peneliti merasa penting untuk melakukan penelitian tentang Implementasi Program Percakapan Harian untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berbicara Siswa Kelas X SMA Al Azhaar Kedungwaru Tulungagung Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023.

Terdapat dua rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini. Rumusan masalah pertama adalah bagaimana pelaksanaan program percakapan sehari-hari untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa kelas 10 SMA Al Azhaar Kedungwaru Tulungagung?. Kedua, bagaimana pelaksanaan program percakapan sehari-hari meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa kelas 10 SMA Al Azhaar Kedungwaru Tulungagung?

Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Objek penelitian ini adalah guru bahasa Inggris dan murid-murid SMA Al-Ahzar. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dengan mewawancarai guru bahasa Inggris dan siswa. Prosedur analisis data adalah: 1) Pengumpulan data, 2) Reduksi data, 3) Interpretasi data, dan 4) Pengambilan kesimpulan

Berdasarkan analisis data, peneliti menemukan tiga kegiatan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa. Yang pertama adalah pemberian materi. Para guru mempersiapkan materi sehari sebelum siswa mempraktikkan percakapan sehari-hari. Yang kedua adalah memberikan contoh. Guru memberikan contoh kepada siswa tentang fungsi materi percakapan sehari-hari.

Yang terakhir adalah pemberian hadiah. Hadiah diberikan oleh guru agar siswa lebih termotivasi untuk berbicara bahasa Inggris..
