Based on the explanation above, the researcher then thinks that it is an important thing to know the students' perception regarding the effectiveness of journalism learning project in public speaking. Regarding the problem statements above, the objectives of the research were to find out "the students' perception regarding the effectiveness of journalism learning project in public speaking subject among seventh semester students of Muhammadiyah University of Makassar". The researcher would like to focus on the effectiveness of journalism learning project public speaking subject in their speaking skills.

Consequently, there is an urgent need for students to improve their public speaking skills (Nasser Omer, 2014). According to Whitworth and Cochran (1996), some skills training is essential to reduce anxiety because it reduces the ambiguity of the public speaking situation by providing knowledge and techniques necessary for effective public speaking. Research-based data illustrates that speaking as an extracurricular activity in schools improves students' performance on speaking tests at statistically significant levels and increases the student's desire to become a learner (Warner, and Bruschke, 2001).
From a learning point of view, public speaking is a good way to train and improve students' language skills (Nasser Omer argues that a student who has previously received training in public speaking or who has been involved in a speech - and debate organization are likely to get a higher grade on the public speaking course Public speaking is universally applicable to all types of majors and professions and is seen by the U.S. Television announcers, teachers, lawyers, and entertainers must be able to speak well, but the most other professions require or at least can benefit from the skills found in public speaking.
Learning about public speaking allows you to participate in democracy at the most basic level. Even if you don't plan to run for office, learning about public speaking will help you listen more carefully to and critically evaluate the speeches of others. It should be clear by now that public speaking is happening all around us in many parts of our lives.
One of the most useful models for understanding public speaking is Barnlund's (2008) transactional model of communication.
Conceptual Framework
So, at the journalism learning project, students would like to have more information and knowledge about how to express their speech in public, which is good, and how to be creative to inform something such as a public speaker and reporting news. And the researcher would like to use descriptive quantitative research to find out the effectiveness of a public speaking subject in their speaking skill at a journalism learning project.

In short, the students' attitude towards the journalism learning project managed to support the subject of public speaking. The entire journalism project directed the students to Christmanship in the subject of public speaking. The subject of public speaking with a journalism learning project never teaches us effective speaking skills in the classroom.
Public Speaking allows me to practice my grammar sentences through a journalism learning project in the classroom. The students' perception that public speaking through a journalism learning project ensures that they are disciplined in the learning process. Based on journalism learning in public speaking, I got new knowledge to improve my speaking skills.
The result therefore showed that the student's attitude towards the journalistic learning project in the subject of public speaking would give new knowledge to improve their speaking skills. In addition, the students claimed that the public journalism learning project in the public speaking course was effective in teaching public speaking. In the Public Speaking course, I can practice my grammar sentences with a journalism learning project in class.
Based on Journalistic Learning in public speaking, I gained new knowledge to improve my speaking skills.
FINDING AND DISCUSSION
Finding
Based on the table 4.1 above, percentages of data showed that there were 21 students who responded, there were 14 students or 66.6% of the total number of students who strongly agreed with the statement. Meanwhile, there were 43 students or 14.2% of the total number of students who answered undecided with the statement. Based on the table 4.3 above, percentages of data showed that there were 21 students who responded, there were 11 students or 52.3% of the total number of students who strongly agreed with the statement.
There was 1 student or 4.7% of the total number of students who were not defined by the statement. According to the table 4.4 above, the data percentages showed that 21 students responded, of which 9 students or 42.8% of the total number of students strongly agree with the statement. While there were 6 students or 28.5% of the total number of students who responded that they disagreed with the statement.
According to the table 4.7 above, the data percentages showed that 21 students answered, of which 15 students or 71.42% of the total number of students strongly agree with the statement. While there were 10 students or 47.6% of the total number of students who responded that they disagreed with the statement. However, 2 students or 9.5% of the total number of students were not defined by the statement.
Based on Table 4.11 above, percentages of data showed that there were 21 students who responded, there were 8 students or 38.0% of the total number of students who strongly agreed with the statement. Meanwhile, there were 5 students or 23.8% of the total number of students who answered undecided with the statement. Meanwhile, there were 6 students or 42.8% of the total number of students who answered agree with the statement.
Discussion
The data from the questionnaire showed that mostly students realized that the success of journalism learning project is supported in public speaking. Based on the results and the discussion, it can be concluded that the respondents in this research gave their positive opinion about the effectiveness of journalism learning project in public speaking. Educators should reduce problems in implementing a journalism learning project in a public speaking subject to enhance its benefits in improving students' language skills in terms of practicing speaking and their performance in public speaking.
The applied journalism learning project should not only be used in public speaking, but also be implemented in other subjects of the English education department to improve their speaking skills. Journalism learning project makes us get more Christism in public speaking. journalism learning project did not affect our vocabulary to get better. I often understand the subject of Public Speaking less because my teacher never gave us a theory at each meeting, but always practiced in class.
My teacher used this method for communicate that can open horizons to solve our problem in public speaking.
CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

Furthermore, they managed to show from the finding of journalism learning project in public speaking, to support their speaking skills, made the students to be criticism, gave a good experience, the more confidence they understand better by practicing, gave a new knowledge, Effective , this method was fun, opened horizons and solve problems for students, activity, make them be disciplined, interesting and motivating, vocabulary to improve, their pronunciation be smooth and even if grammatical sentences were not maximum. The positive judgment from the respondents comes not only from the students' ability to speak and the aspects of the research questionnaire, but also from the benefits they got from the implementation of journalism learning project in public speaking to improve their speaking skills. They claimed that they have gained many benefits from journalism learning project in public speaking to improve their speaking skills in practicing speaking.
Lecturer was needed by the students to provide some teaching, correction, motivation etc.
