Judul Skripsi : Effectiveness of PQRST (Preview, Question, Read, Summarize and Test) Strategy in Online English Learning to Improve Students' Reading Comprehension at MAN Pinrang. The purpose of this study was to learn about the implementation of the PQRST (Preview, Question, Summarize, and Test) strategy by the MAN Pinrang student. This study explains the result of the test data which consists of pre-test and post-test.

Reading has an important role in all areas of school and the most important aspect is reading comprehension. 2 Seri sartika, “using the PQRST (Predict, Ask, Read, Summarize, You Test) strategy in teaching reading comprehension in SMA Negeri 2 Kepahiang” (IAIN Curup:2018). Using inappropriate strategies can lead to students' lack of reading comprehension ability.

This technique is used to improve students' reading comprehension because the stages are well organized. The researchers chose the reading comprehension used in the X Man Pinrang class because it matches their narrative learning text; Legends, which is one of the teaching materials in Class X Man Pinrang. 3Tri Ismiyanti, "Improving students' ability in reading comprehension using pre-question, reading, condition and test strategy", (UIN Sumatera Utara:2017).

The researcher is therefore interested in conducting a research entitled "Effectiveness of the PQRST (Preview, Question, Reading, Summarize, And Test) Strategy In Online English Learning To Improve Student Reading Comprehension at MAN Pinrang". Does the PQRST strategy have a different effect on students' reading comprehension between the control and experimental classes of tenth grade MAN Pinrang.

After determination, the mean score (X1) of pre-test was 50.30 and the standard deviation (SD) of the post-test was 1.84.

Alternative hypothesis (H₀): there is no significant effect of PQRST strategy in online English learning of experimental and control class.

Students' reading score using PQRST strategy of control class and experimental class. The standard deviation of the pre-test was 1.60 and the standard deviation score of the post-test was 2.32. According to the above data, the posttest score is better than the pretest score.

The standard deviation score for the pre-test was 1.60 and the standard deviation score for the post-test was 2.32. The pre-test data shows that 11 (34%) students received a good rating, 16 (50%) students received a poor rating, and 5 (16%) students received a very poor rating. The rating percentage of the pre-test 6 (19%) students received a good classification, 27 (81%) students received a poor classification.

While a percentage of level 10 (31%) students received a very good classification on the test, 23 (69%) students received a good classification. The alternative hypothesis (H₁) is that there is a significant effect of the PQRST strategy in online English learning in the experimental and control classes. This can be seen in the table of the progress of the students' results from the pre-test to the post-test.

The result of the effectiveness of PQRST (Preview, Question, Read, Summarize and Test) it can be concluded that the PQRST strategy in online English learning is effective to improve students' reading comprehension. It is according to the result of the calculated mean and standard deviation of the pre-test and post-test in the experimental class. Based on the result of the pre-test, the data showed that the average score of the pre-test is 49.68.

After determining the mean score (X1) of the post-test was 62.12 and the standard deviation (SD) of the post-test was 2.07.

FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

Findings

The researcher described the data obtained from the students of Madrasa Aliyah Negeri Pinrang and the population of this research is 299 students from the tenth grade students of MAN Pinrang academic years 2022/2023. The researcher divided them into two groups, 32 students as experimental class from X MIPA 4 and 32 students as control class from X MIPA 6 Each of the tests, pre-test and post-test consists of 10 multiple choice and 10 True/False . The pre-test score in the experiment class received a maximum score of 65 and a minimum score of 40.

While the rate percentage for the post-test, 2 (6%) students received very good classification, 22 (69%) received good classification, 8 (25%) students received poor classification. It showed that the student was able to improve students' reading comprehension after treatment than using PQRST (Preview, Question, Read, Summarize and Test) Strategy. The Effectiveness of Pqrst (Preview, Question, Reading, Summarize, AndTest) Strategy in Online English Learning to Improve Students' Reading Comprehension at Man Pinrang.

After getting the data of pre-test and post-test scores of two classes, the researcher analyzed it by using t-test, the result calculation of post-test at the experiment class and control class will be described in the following table. To know whether the mean score of the experimental class and the control class differ significantly, the research used a T-test. It indicated that the alternative hypothesis was accepted there was a significant difference between experimental and control classes after treatment by PQRST (Preview, Question, Read, Summarize, and Test) strategy in online English learning to improve student reading comprehension at the tenth grade of MAN Pin rank.

Alternative hypothesis (H₀) there is no significant effect of PQRST strategy in online English learning of experimental and control class. The result of the statistical t-test analysis showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class.

Discussion

PQRST technique for reading Comprehension of the second grade students At SMAN 1 kota jambi (Vol. 1). Based on the result of the pre-test and post-test above, the data showed at pre-test score and the maximum score is 75 and the minimum score is 40. CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

Conclusion

So it can be concluded that the PQRST strategy is effective in improving students' reading comprehension. It can be concluded that there was a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class, who received the treatment and who did not.

Suggestion

The effect of using preview, question, read, set, test (pqrst) method for students' reading comprehension of the first-year students at Islamic senior high school babussalam dormitory pekanbaru. The monkey was very fond of children's crabs and gave him some of the fruit every day.
