Subject: recording your name/personal greeting on the Skype phones
Hello Everyone,
Here are the details I referenced the All‐staff meeting.
Try calling your own number from a different line to hear what someone calling you will hear if you don’t answer. It only takes a moment to record your name and title or a short message, if you’d like. It’s also a better experience for callers than the robot voice (as cool as robots are).
Here are the steps I followed to record my name (voicemail personal greeting callers will hear):
1) Hit the envelope button
2) Hear the ring
3) Press#2 to “record your personal greeting”
4) Press #1 to “play and record your person greeting” (the other option‐#2 to “record your greeting when you’re away”
is the VM equivalent of an out of office message and is designed to be temporary.
5) Then follow the prompts to record a short greeting (I just said my name and title). You can hear it and rerecord if desired. Of course, I did it 3 or 4 times!
6) Hit # when I was done, then * to exit
