In the wintertime, the Nelsons get together with saddle club families for a sleigh ride and potluck dinner. She rode the sorrel horse in 15 shows throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa, winning the show competition at the Fillmore Coun-. She drives it for bringing cattle from pasture to feed on hay racks and heads of silage.
After the vet set the leg and constructed a crutch, it was Debbie's job to care for the colt. Every day she continued to cover the inside of her leg to minimize friction from the upper part of the crutch which was fixed to the cast. Some of her accomplishments have been featured in The Ag Man, the Minnesota Vocational Education Instructors magazine, and the Midland Cooperator newspaper.
This fall, Debbie will begin pre-veterinary medicine at the University of Minnesota in St. Louis.

Jeff then sets the boat to travel in a circle, adjusting the direction from time to time so he can pull in the nets as the boat moves. The fisherman puts the peeling crabs in a basket and keeps them in the water until they are ready to be sold as soft shells. 34; After itching for crabs in the morning, I catch oysters by digging a mouthful," says the experienced captain.

The goal of this project is to teach the grade schoolers in the district a sense of ownership and pride in their accomplishments. It is also good promotion for the section in the community.

The tree planting project was the result of a program co-sponsored by Hunt-Wesson Foods and the United States Forest Service to replace some of the 520,000 acres of national forests destroyed by fire in 1970. Forest Service landscape architects, soil scientists, wildlife biologists, foresters and engineers designed the Children's Forests, including paths for disabled and blind children. FFA chapters participating in the advance ticket sale will earn a profit for each book of tickets they sell.
There will be competition classes for the largest circumference, the heaviest, the most special shape, the most special color and for the perfectionist the three most uniform pumpkins. FFA members in their blue and gold jackets publicly visited children from kindergarten through sixth grade.

During the summer and fall months, WEA participants, representing 18 FFA state associations, will live in 11 different countries around the world. Activities for fun included during the day are watermelon eating competition, monkey eating competition, greased pole climbing event and tractor driving competition. The tractor driving competition tests the skills of driving a tractor over an obstacle course and driving two- and four-wheeled implements between poles.
