The Effects of Using Hello English Application as English Teaching Media on Students' Speaking Skills (A Pre-Experimental Research on Eighth Grade Students of SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa). The purpose of this study was to find out the impact of using the Hello English application as a media to learn English on students' speaking skills. In the previous study, Sandy Yuanita (2019) finds that "using the Hello English app as an English teaching media to teach speaking skills is more effective".
The researcher proposes the Hello English application as an English learning media for students' fluency, especially in terms of their accuracy and fluency.
Research Question
Moreover, "students are very attracted and enthusiastic using Hello English application as English learning media because this application is automatically designed and convenient to understand" (Sandy Yunita, 2019). Hello English application is chosen by the researcher because the English teacher has never used this application in speaking teaching. In addition, Hello English app provides a comprehensive English learning that covers all macro skills of speaking, reading, listening, grammar and vocabulary through interesting scenes and games.
Based on the research question, the aim of this study is to find out whether or not using the Hello English application affects students' speaking skills, especially in terms of their accuracy and fluency.

Research Hypothesis
Research Design
Treatment
Post-test
After conducting the pretest, the researcher delivered the treatment using the Hello English application as a medium about the students' speaking skills.
Sample
In addition, the researcher selected Class VIII.9, which consists of 34 students, as the research sample for observation. In addition, this class was chosen as the exploratory sample of the study due to the observation in the interview with the English teacher that this class still speaks less. An independent variable was a variable that was not affected by the other variables you are trying to measure.
It refers to the condition of an experiment that is systematically manipulated by the researcher. It is like an English teaching media that is used by the researcher while teaching the material. The dependent variable was the variable being tested and measured in an experiment and also depends on another factor being measured.
These variables are expected to change as a result of an experimental manipulation of the independent variable or variables.
Research Instrument
Procedures of Collecting Data
Pre-test
Furthermore, the researcher gave the oral test to students to measure students'.. competence before the researcher gave them the treatment. Posttest is a test given after a period of instruction to decide what students have learned. In addition, post-test also indicated how important the difference score from pre-test was.
The researcher gave the students a post-test of the same duration, but the researcher used the instrument that has a different level of difficulty than a pre-test. The researcher instructed the students to record their voice answering the researcher's questions.
Techniques of Data Analysis
When it found that the t-test was equal to or greater than the value of the t-table, it means that null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted because there was significant difference between pre- test and post-test after class using the Hello English application as a learning medium. The research results represent the description of the result from the data obtained by speech test in pre-test and post-test.
Findings
The improvement of students’ speaking skills in terms of accuracy and fluency
After the researcher treated the students, the average score of the students was 6.06 and it is categorized as a good classification. The following table shows the distribution of students' average scores, especially in students' pronunciation in pre-test, post-test and students' pronunciation improvement. After the researcher treated the students, the average score of the students was 5.7 and it is categorized as a good classification.
Therefore, the improvement of students' average score especially on students' pronunciation from pre-test and post-test was 39.4%. To clearly see the result of students' average score, especially on their fluency and the improvement of students' speaking fluency. The students' improvement of speaking fluency was discovered after the researcher analyzed the result of speaking test.
After analyzing the test, it was found that students' fluency improved before and after the test. The average score of students on the pretest regarding student fluency was 4.5, while the average score of students on the posttest was 4.5. In addition, it was stated that students' speaking fluency improved after using the Hello English app.
Thus, the improvement of students' mean score, especially in students' speaking fluency from pre-test to post-test was 35.5%.
Scoring classification of students’ speaking achievement in pre-test and post-test
We can therefore conclude that the percentage in the post-test is higher than the percentage in the pre-test.
Hypothesis testing
It can be inferred that there was a significant impact between the students' scores in the pre-test and post-test. Based on the result, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted.
Discussions
The researcher compared the t-test value to find out whether the use of Hello English application to improve students' speaking skills. The researcher found that there was significant difference between the result of pre-test and post-test after teaching and learning process by using Hello English application. The significant improvement of students' speaking skills through t-test with the level significant was 0.05 at the degree of freedom (df) is 33.
After seeing the findings of the study, it was found that the students' speaking accuracy improved. The pre-test result revealed that most students had a fair level of accuracy. The pre-test and post-test result proved that there was an improvement in students' speaking fluency after the use of Hello English application in teaching speaking was applied by the researcher in the online class.
In the pre-test, the researcher discovered that most students have a poor level of fluency. However, after the researcher gave the treatment and the post-test was conducted, the researcher discovered that there was an improvement in students' speaking fluency. In pre-test the average score of students' speaking fluency was 4.5 and in post-test 6.1.
It was reported that there was an improvement in students' speaking skills after using the Hello English application by the researcher in teaching speaking. Based on the above result, the researcher can deduce that using Hello English application as English learning media can improve students' speaking skills.
Conclusions
The first part is conclusion, it is based on the findings and the data analysis in the previous chapter. While the second part is suggestions, it is based on the researcher recommended to undertake. Furthermore, the students' average score of speaking fluency in pre-test was 4.5 and post-test 6.1.
It was reported that there was an improvement in the speaking skills of the students after using the Hello English application by the researcher. This indicated that the students' speaking skills score was better in the post-test than in the pre-test. Given the result, the Hello English application can be an option in teaching English because meaningful language exercises have been done.
It is indicated that students can easily participate actively in the game part, which allows them to use the language.
