The aim of the research was to determine whether the use of the Discovery method could improve the ability to write a descriptive text in the tenth grade students of SMAN 1 Sungguminas. This research used a pre-experimental design that used a discovery method to teach descriptive text writing. The result showed that there are significant differences in students' descriptive text writing according to the content and organization taught through the Discovery method.
Then the students' average score of organization was 38 in pre-test to 58.8 in post-test. The study concluded that teaching writing using Discovery Method increased students' ability to write descriptive text at the Tenth Grade of SMAN 1 Sungguminasa.

Conceptual Framework
Null hypothesis (H0): Using the Discovery method does not improve students' writing of descriptive texts. Before the treatment, the writing of descriptive texts by the students is poor in content and organization. The writing of descriptive texts by students is supported by the fact that the average score of the students on the pre- and post-test content was 48.8 and 79.6.
After calculating the student's content indicator score in the pre-test and post-test, also explain the classification of the student's improvement in descriptive text writing. The researcher gives a pre-test to know the students' prior knowledge in writing before treatment. This means that there is a significance difference between the results of the students' writing descriptive text using the Discovery Method after treatment. The description of the analysis of data from the writing test as an explanation in the previous section shows that the students' writing of descriptive text in terms of content and organization.
The mean scores of students after treatment using discovery method in teaching descriptive text writing better than before treatment is given to students. It is concluded that the use of the discovery method to develop the descriptive text of students' writing in terms of content and organization. This is evidenced by the improvement of students' written content (2.42).

It examines the result of treatment teaching and learning process to the effectiveness by using DiscoveryMethod as a method to develop students' writing descriptive text in the tenth grade student of SMAN 1 Sungguminasa, which is carried out with pre-test, treatment and post-test. After giving the treatment, their writing is significantly improved and categorized as very good, especially in writing descriptive text. The use of Discovery Method improves students' writing about descriptive text in the tenth grade of SMAN 1 in terms of content and organization after using Discovery Method was significant.

Untuk memotivasi siswa dalam mempelajari teks deskriptif, guru menunjukkan contoh teks deskriptif disertai gambar tentang sejarah teks deskriptif tersebut. Siswa dipersiapkan untuk mengikuti pembelajaran tentang teks deskriptif dengan bertanya tentang teks cerita deskriptif yang telah mereka baca.
Siswa mendapat informasi tentang tujuan pembelajaran dan manfaat pembelajaran teks deskriptif serta mendapat cakupan materi dan penjelasan uraian kegiatan sesuai dengan kurikulum. Siswa membaca teks deskriptif tentang orang-orang yang berperilaku dengan pengucapan, tekanan kata, dan intonasi yang benar.
