FILSA DJASMIN, 2014. Increasing the students writing skill through Dyadic Essay Confrontation Technique (DEC)of SMA Neg.1 Bajo Kabupaen Luwu (An Experimental) under the thesis of English Education Department the Faculty of Teachers Training and Education, Makassar Muhammadiyah University (guided by St. Asriati , and Awalia Azis.

This research aimed to find out the improvement of the students writing skill, especially to write an expository text and the researcher just took two components for analyzed they were Vocabulary and Language use, at the second year students of SMAN 1 Bajo Luwu Regency.

The problem statement of this research: Does Dyadic Essay Confrotation can increase the students writing skill to write an expository text at the Second Year Students of SMAN 1 Bajo.

An Experimental which was conducted in Pre-Test, Treatment, and Post- Test. Technique of data collection using observation sheet and given tests based on the material being taught.

The location of this research was taken at Second year students of SMA Neg.1 Bajo Kabupaten Luwu with a number of the subject were 27 students.

The research findings indicated that the Dyadic Essay Confrontation technique was significant in improving the students’ writing skill to write an Expository text. It was proved by the mean score of Pre-test was 41.96 then increased to be 70.07 in Post-test. Comparing with t-test value at the level significance 0,05 was greater than t-table with the degree of freedom (df) N-l(27) it was found that t- test value was greater than the t-table(12.61> 2.056). It mean that there was improvement of the students’ Writing skill to write an Expository text.
