INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

English is taught from kindergarten to university or college and even taught in courses. A preliminary survey was conducted in the eleventh grade of 5 Metro State High School. Personality is considered as one of the individual differences, which is widely agreed to have an impact on learning in general and second language acquisition (SLA) in particular.

An introverted personality is when someone is more concerned with the inner world of the mind, enjoys thinking, exploring their thoughts and feelings, and often avoids social situations because being around people drains their energy, while an extroverted personality is when people use up their energy freely and often. they have trouble slowing down and are easily refreshed by working in the outside world, especially since there are so many choices these days and extroverted people can feel lonely and exhausted when they are not in contact with people or the outside world. So the researcher would choose introverted personality as a variable than extroverted because the researcher is more interested in the significant and positive correlation between students' introverted personality and students' speaking performance in speaking teaching. Therefore, after conducting a preliminary survey on February 12, 2015, the researcher obtained data on the speaking performance at 5 Metro State Senior High School.

Pre-Survey Data English Result of Class Eleven (Class D) Govt High School 5 Metro. Based on the line of the problem, the researcher is interested to know that there is any significant relationship between students' introverted personality and speaking performance in teaching speaking in eleventh grade students of 5 Metro State High School.

Problem Identification

Most students have less self-confidence and some of them have an introverted personality.

Correlation between students' introverted personality and speaking performance in eleventh grade state high school students. The population of this research is the students of the eleventh grade of the state high school 5 Metro in the academic year 2015/2016. The sample of this research is Class D of eleventh grade of 5 Metro High School.

Theoretical Framework and Paradigm

Introverted personality is one of the internal factors that has played a vital role in influencing the learning of the students' culture. Based on figure 1, the researcher concluded that high is when the personality of introverted students scores more than the minimum passing grade in English and low is when the introverted students score below the minimum passing grade in English in the eleventh grade of school state secondary 5 Metro. The researcher used several ways to know the personality of the students using questionnaire sheet based on. 33http://chemwiki.UCdavis.edu/Analytical_Chemistry_/Data_Analysis/. The introvert personality trait indicator consists of 25 questions.

According to the statement, the researcher can conclude that reliability is the accuracy of the measurement result. To know and find out if there is a significant relationship between students' introverted personality and their speaking performance at eleventh grade level in Senior High School 5 Metro. Data for the teacher's educational background and the staff at Statens Seniorgymnasium 5 Metro in the academic year 2015/2016 can be seen through this table as follows.

Teacher and staff data at State High School 5 Metro academic year 2015/2016. A set of questionnaires was given to know students' introverted personality and speaking performance. If we interpret it based on the above table, it can be concluded that there is an average correlation between introverted personality and their speaking performance in the first semester of the eleventh grade of 5 Metro State High School.

The result of the output data from SPSS 16. 1) There are two variables that are examined in this analysis, they are the students. introverted personality and their speaking performance. Is there any relationship between students' introverted personality and their speaking performance in the eleventh grade of 5 Metro Senior High School. There is no relationship between students' introverted personality and their speaking performance in the eleventh grade of 5 Metro High School.

This means that there is a positive and significant correlation between the students' introverted personality and their speaking performance in the eleventh grade of Senior High School 5 Metro. The result of this research is that there is any significant correlation between students' introverted personality and their speaking performance. So, they can enrich vocabulary because they have to speak in English.. a) The result of the research can be used as references to the teacher in solving the problem that may occur in speaking teaching especially in Die Staat Senior Hoërskool 5 Metro.

And the indicator of the independent variable is that the students can speak well in front of the class with confidence, good intonations, fluency, vocabulary and pronunciation. Observation is used to find out the information in the implementation, the benefits and difficulties of introvert personality and also the responses of the students introvert personality in the classroom. It is a process of organizing the data to achieve regularity of the pattern and form of the study.

Product moment correlation is one of the techniques commonly used to determine the significance of the correlation between two variables. The development at 5 Metro Government Higher Secondary School since it was established till now is very good in terms of quality or quantity of students and teachers. 1. This research was conducted at State of Senior High School 5 Metro, located on Walter Monginsidi East Hadimulyo Village street in Central Metro district, Lampung. In addition, all the infrastructures have also been completed, which has made it easier for the institute to achieve the goal of the regional environment's vision and mission "Today must be better than yesterday and tomorrow must be better than today". Data on faculty and staff in The State Senior High School 5 Metro Academic Year 2015/2016.

Male Computer Teacher 41 Mohtar Efendi, S.Pd Male Physics Teacher 42 Muamar Dodi Prastiyo Male Sociology Teacher. Frequency distribution of speaking performance test scores of eleventh grade students of 5 Metro High School. After getting the data, the researcher correlated the students' speaking performance score with the questionnaire to measure whether there is any correlation between the students' introverted personality and their speaking performance score.

Hypothesis Testing

In order to determine if there is any relationship between students' introverted personality and their speaking performance, both variables were calculated using SPSS for windows.

Interpretations

If "r observed" is greater than "r table", Alternative Hypothesis (Hi) is accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. If "r observed" is less than "r table", Alternative Hypothesis (Hi) is rejected and null hypothesis (Ho) is accepted.

Limitations

Based on the result of data analysis on the correlation between students' introverted personality and their speaking performance, it can be concluded that for df = 23, rxy=0.580> rtable =0.413 for the 5% significant level, rxy=0.580> rtable = 0.526 for the 1% significance level. This research is useful as a contribution of thinking that can enrich the information about the introverted personality of students, especially in teaching English. The researcher suggests other researchers to focus on other aspects in the process of teaching and learning English.
