The objective of this research is to find out the phonological variations of buginese speakers MTSS Muhammadiyah Ele students when they speak indonesian. The researcher used a qualitative descriptive approach. A qualitative approach is a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people and observed behavior. This research, researcher chose subjects according to the needs and research objectives.

Researcher conducted research on all students in class VII.1 MTSS Muhammadiyah Ele.

The results of the research show that there are three aspects of phonological variation found in this research. The findings from changes in the phonemes spoken by BL speakers are the consonant phonemes /a/ to /e/, /o/ as in the words /iya/ to [iye], [iyo]. The vowel phoneme /o/ becomes /au/ as in the words /kalau/ and so on [kalo], there are changes in consonant and vowel phonemes, with changes in the words /t/ /i/ /d/ /a/ /k/ to /n / /d/ /a/ in the word [tidak ada] becomes [ndada]. The finding from adding phonemes is that adding phonemes can be done at the end or is called a paragoge. There is also the addition of a phoneme to the glottal stop sound [?] in the word /jadi/ becomes /Jadimi?/.

The findings from the release of phonemes spoken by BL speakers are that the word /pergi/ which is in accordance with IL rules experiences phoneme release when BL speakers pronounce it as [pi], the speaker above makes an abbreviation.

This process occurs because the phonemes /e, r, g/ that appear are only the initial and final phonemes to form the word [pi].

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui variasi fonologis siswa penutur bahasa Bugis MTsS Muhammadiyah ele ketika berbicara bahasa Indonesia. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Pendekatan kualitatif adalah suatu prosedur penelitian yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa kata-kata tertulis atau lisan dari orang-orang dan perilaku yang diamati.

Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti memilih subjek sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan tujuan penelitian. Peneliti melakukan penelitian pada seluruh siswa kelas VII.1 MTSS Muhammadiyah Ele.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga aspek variasi fonologis yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini. Temuan dari perubahan fonem yang diucapkan penutur BL adalah fonem konsonan /a/ menjadi /e/, /o/ seperti pada kata /iya/

menjadi [iye], [iyo]. Fonem vokal /o/ menjadi /au/ seperti pada kata /kalau/ dan seterusnya [kalo], terjadi perubahan pada fonem konsonan dan vokal, demikian pula dengan perubahan pada kata /t/ /i/ /d/ /a/ /k/ menjadi /n / /d/ /a/ pada kata [tidak ada] menjadi [ndada]. Temuan dari penjumlahan fonem adalah penjumlahan fonem dapat dilakukan di akhir atau disebut dengan paragoge.

Terdapat pula penambahan fonem pada bunyi glottal stop [?] pada kata /jadi/

menjadi /Jadimi?/. Temuan dari pelepasan fonem yang diucapkan oleh penutur BL adalah kata /pergi/ yang sesuai dengan kaidah IL mengalami pelepasan fonem apabila penutur BL mengucapkannya sebagai [pi], penutur di atas membuat singkatan. Proses ini terjadi karena fonem /e, r, g/ yang muncul hanyalah fonem awal dan fonem akhir sehingga membentuk kata [pi].

Yulika.R, born on August 25, 2001 in Barru, South Sulawesi.

From the marriage of his father Abdul Rahman and mother Norma. She has one sister and one brother; she was the second of third children. She started her education at SDN 03 Sumpang Binangae.

Then she continued her study at SMPN 02 Barru and graduated in 2016, after that he continued his upper secondary level at SMAN 01 Barru and graduated in 2019.

At some time, she also continued his education at one of the universities in Makassar, namely the Islamic University of Makassar (UIM), she was accepted as a student of the Department of English Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at the Islamic University of Makassar.
