You can click most of the toolbar buttons that appear in the lessons to flash the corresponding SolidWorks button. Do this by typing dumb* in All or part of the filename: field. Files and folders matching the search criteria are displayed in the search results window.
When you click a button in the control area, the CommandManager is updated to show this toolbar. You can access the "more commands" menu by selecting the double arrows in the menu.
Basic Functionality
When many SolidWorks commands are active, a symbol or set of symbols appears in the upper right corner of the graphics area. The status bar shows the position of the cursor, or sketch tool, relative to the origin of the sketch. The status bar in the lower right corner of the window indicates that the sketch is fully defined.

SolidWorks Toolbox Basics
The Toolbox Browser is an extension of the Design Library that contains all available Toolbox parts. You need to determine the size of the holes before choosing the hardware to use and matching the hardware to the hole. Relation toolbar or Measure on the Tools toolbar and select one of the holes on the link plate to determine the hole size.
2 Slowly drag the screw to one of the switch plate holes until the screw snaps into the hole. When the screw snaps into the hole, it is correctly oriented and properly mates with the surfaces of the part it is being combined with. You do not need to change any of the screw properties for the second screw.
If you look closely at the holes, you will see that the holes in the bearing part are larger than those in the bearing block. This is because the holes in the bearing block are represented by the amount of material needed to create the screw threads. The washers are attached to the surface of the part and the screw or bolts are attached to the washers.
5 Slowly drag the washer to one of the bearing rest through holes until the washer seems to click into the hole. Drawing Basics
The size and style of main line, text and arrows should be consistent throughout the drawing. First, you will create the drawing for the part called Tutor1 that you built in a previous lesson. 4 Make any other desired changes to the document properties, such as the dimension text font and size.
In a parametric note, text such as a numerical wall thickness value is replaced by a dimension. When you import dimensions from a model, the 4mm thickness dimension of the Shell feature will also be imported. Make sure the text insertion cursor is at the end of the text string and type mm.
Detail views are views that usually only show part of the model at a larger scale.
SolidWorks eDrawings Basics

Loft Features
When you want to blend an attic feature with an existing feature such as the shaft, it is desirable to blend the face smoothly. End constraint applies to the last profile, which in this case is the face at the end of the shaft. The Tangency To Face option will touch the raised feature on the sides of the shaft.

Visualization
PhotoWorks software produces a smooth shaded rendering of the part using a preset view and scene. The top panel of the Appearances/PhotoWorks tab in the taskbar is the Appearance Library where the appearances are listed in folders. A different direction can be specified by selecting a different triangle arrow or pattern edge.
