The dedication of this book, dear reader, is not addressed to any individual, but to the friendships formed here – the joy of the hour you spend here and all the fine qualities you have acquired here. With the relationship now existing between the Normal College and the University of Indiana it is expected that the people entering the field of physical education from these institutions will be of a higher caliber, better informed with the demands of the modern education and will be sufficiently capable to meet these requirements. To understand this relationship, the staff has attempted, through photographic illustrations and literary efforts, to familiarize all Normal College stakeholders with Indiana University.
In truth, it has also been the purpose of this book to record for you normal college life, activity and events as we have found them. If this 19 3 3 Gymnast in the years to come somehow makes you recall memories of one of the greatest years at Normal, then our purpose will have been accomplished. Students of the Normal College may complete all or part of the work offered in Indianapolis and obtain the bachelor's degree by completing their studies in Bloomington.
The real body of Indiana University has been glad to accept the establishment of a relationship between the Normal College of the American Gymnastics Union and Indiana University for the purpose of exchanging credit between the two in titles, making it possible - to be possible when it is necessary for the students of each institution to participate in their work in the other degree and it applies to the Bachelor degree. We anticipate that this link will be beneficial to students of both institutions.

THE HARD TIMES
FROSH-SOPH FOOTBALL For the third time in a year these two classes met on the battlefield and this time in football. It turned out to be one of the coldest and most energetic tributes of the entire football season. 34;If they are few in number, their power will shake the earth, and you will know them." However, this did not work in practice in this game, because the first students were conspicuous by their absence, and many by the young and the old played alongside the one-year-olds.
He was beaten by Wally Kroczinski, Smead Jolley (Sleep Physiologist), Thelma Simmons (Sleep Kinesiologist) and Nathan Goldberg (Sleep Philosopher.) Watch out next year you sleepers, because. Jack stands up with his left shoulder low) Which arm do you hold your books with? Karl stands up with his right shoulder low) What do you hold in your right hand.
Werdl'r- See children, his right shoulder is low from carrying books on the right side, he must alternate the books. The scene is set in Bumblebee, Arizona, in a homely living room on the edge of the Sahara desert. An elderly man sits in an overstuffed chair with two children sitting on his knees and as many more playing the tom-tom on his nobby.
He opened it and the first thing he looked at was a picture of Tony Grossman. You know, Herm's an aviator now, and the last I heard of him he crashed trying to land a plane upside down. Even further down the Freshman list were Goldberg, Pratt and Potthoff, all champs in their respective boxing classes.
Rudy Jahn was taken for a ride by one of Palmeri's gang; his body was carried across the White River, where it is about a mile wide, and there thrown to the fish.

One of the most enthusiastic groups of bowlers in many seasons responded to the call for baseball candidates. So it is no wonder that on this basis the team enjoyed a very interesting and successful season. In the games that followed, Pratt soon showed his worth in the passing role.
Stroer showed great form playing the ball in possession, on the right side of the pitch and some very nice touches.

The game was very thnllmg from start to final whistle to end the game. Although the Alumni team had little or no practice, they were able to defeat the college team by a score of 2 0-10. From the spectator's point of view the game was very interesting and it is hoped that the event will be shown on any homecoming program in the future.
With ideal weather nearly every day the baseball team had to report to the practice field, the baseball course proved very enjoyable for every girl at the Normal College. During the first half of each period the various fundamentals of hitting, hitting and catching were practiced. The game was played according to the playground rules and most of the rules were explained according to the conditions.
It is clear that some of the girls became quite good at playing baseball, but that was not the only purpose of the course. The course is conducted to teach prospective teachers the basics of the game and methods of teaching and coaching it. Unfortunately, the men usually don't have as many opportunities to see the women play, as the opposite is true.
But one day, due to the girl's prolonged play, the men observed a very interesting game.

The boys get pretty reckless in the way they turn their desserts on their athletic abilities. Posey Bloom has stunt night for the boys - he has the boys out in the corridors with his speech about the German candidate for mayor. The dean wanted a lot of activity - he got it - the girls outdid a volunteer fire brigade by running to the float.
They showed us a shortcut out of town used by the handsome gentlemen of summer. Butch Philipps led the procession; followed by Allie Zuk, Shorty Szczgiel, Cliff Barnes, Vornheder, Grossman, Goldberg from men; while Shirley Peterson led the fairer sex, followed by Mazie, Abie and Irma Klafs-Skinny, who swam into town. Tom Woods remarked that he knew the reason the girls left for the big cities-tsk-tsk- Tom-You're a married man.
Johnny Connors would like to see the gentlemen who averaged the goals in athletics - we all would - all honest men. The boys had a fun guessing competition trying to pick out Who's Who of the girls in minstrel disguise. Some say Red Pump was up with the birds on the patio studying for it - guess that must be the "big" college habit.
Fire!- no it's not a song; Grossman and Jahn awoke from a bad dream at 11:47 a.m. to discover the radio end of Jahn Hall in flames—Bugler Bill was so excited he blew all the calls in one. Parson Nelson would make a good battalion chief a demonstration by the way he took command of the situation. Smalley was number 14 on the list of Marathoners - he was spurred on by Zuk who swam the course for its recreational values and outcomes.
Zuk's eating crew broke the mess record - Willy Treichler smashed a few pieces of pottery for his share of the glory. The Frosh committee deserves special praise for the way they handled the last dance and for the way they worked on Jahn Hall. Men play a game of kittenball against the strong boys of Elkhart to get back on the short side, but who cares, we had a lot of fun watching Eak hit a Ruthian whack and Boom Boom Nelson on the chin to third place slid.
