This research was aimed at developing English teaching materials for students of Islamic Junior High School in Darun Najah Sekampung East Lampung. After revising the product in accordance with the validation proposal, it is concluded that the English instructional material can be used properly for Islamic Junior High School of Darun Najah Sekampung East Lampung.

Content of teaching materials that suit the needs and formation of students are necessary in the ELT process. For this reason, the development of teaching materials to suit the needs and background of students is a crucial factor that will influence the ELT process.

Problem Identification

For this reason, the researcher developed teaching materials for religious-based educational institutions in the Islamic context so that more users can use them. The teaching materials are not in accordance with the needs of the students of Islamic high schools and the formation of the students themselves.

Each unit of the developed materials will consist of: (a) related text, (b) language focus, (c) activities and tasks, (d) exercises and (e) answer key. Each unit will be equipped with relevant image to enhance the illustration of the developed product.

Language policy units argue that tasks are one of the characteristics of everyday life in the individual, public, educational or career field. The adaptation aspect, this is how the materials fit the learners' conditions.

Relevant Studies

According to Irwansyah, who conducted his research on "Teaching English at Indonesian Islamic Higher Education: An Epistemological Perspective", argues that ELT educators must examine the philosophy of language teaching within the Indonesian context worldwide and in Islamic educational institutions in particular. Hafis, Harahap and Ansyari describe in their journal that the use of comics media as a means of obtaining local history texts is required to motivate students to capture the learning process. Not only are students explained with a lot of multi-page reading material, making the learning process look boring, but they can also play while learning by making cartoons as a reinforcement of information from each event that is spilled and described on the reading material in the retelling text. 48.

Wati, Siburian and Lubis found that the application of context-based modules is capable of further improving student learning outcomes. Sari, Saputra and Marice in their journal conclude that educators must produce innovations by collecting and developing learning materials so that learning activities are more effective. Educators should develop the latest learning style so that the learning activity is not monotonous and boring.

General learning model used by teachers must be connected with learning strategy so that the learning activity is more attractive mainly in speed reading learning.50.

In addition, in his book, Sugiyono describes a classification of product testing into three levels as follows. This concerns internal testing (opinions of experts and practitioners) and external testing in the form of testing fields. External testing, by Borg and Gall (2003), includes preliminary field testing, playing field testing, and operational field testing.53.

From the above quotes it can be deduced that R&D is a method used to develop and validate educational products. R & D is adapted from industrial design educational product which is often done by practitioners to develop the product systematically referring to specific standards. Based on the explanation above, the researcher decides to use the first level of product testing.

The goal of the needs analysis is to gather information about learning needs and students' needs. The data will be examined as the basis for the development of English teaching materials for students of Islamic Junior High School in Darun Najah Sekampung East Lampung. Each unit of the developed materials will consist of related text, language focus, activities and tasks, exercises and answer key.

The materials were evaluated by two experts and a practitioner to assess the appropriateness of the materials. The findings of the expert judgment questionnaire were investigated and then used as a basis to rewrite the final draft of the materials. The reviews are based on several sections namely content, language, presentation and layout.

After being reviewed, the material is assessed as appropriate teaching material for students of Islamic Junior High School of Darun Najah Sekampung East Lampung.

The process of distributing this questionnaire can be held with the permission of the school and in collaboration with the English teacher in the class. The distribution of questionnaire data is intended to find out the instructional material that students want to be the ideal learning material to be studied according to the needs of students from MTs Darun Najah Sekampung East Lampung. Each point presented in the questionnaire covers the important points found in teaching materials so that the writer can know and follow up on this in the process of developing teaching materials.

The results of sending questionnaires to students are shown in the following columns using percentages from student responses. From the above data, it shows that the need to update teaching materials or adapt material to English with the learning environment and Islamic context in the stories presented. Some of the points in the table above are not only confirmatory aspects that need to be updated, but also the reference material for the authors to develop teaching materials.

The selection is based on several criteria: a) the story is based on Islamic literature and (b) the story is written in good and correct English.

Validation of Learning Materials

The above table shows that the developed teaching materials are generally acceptable, apart from aspects of title suitability, size suitability and material typography, which are considered less attractive (<0.5). Furthermore, suggestions for development from experts and practitioners are related to non-existing product components such as table of contents, preface and bibliography (Madzkur:2019). In addition, the mechanical aspects of product writing must be considered (Irwansyah:2019) and also the questions that elicit the basic abilities of the students themselves (Yawisah:2019).

Limitations of Research

Based on the research, the researcher concludes that several things related to the products of the Islamic Junior High School English Coursebook for Grade 8 based on Islamic stories are as follows. Islamic Junior High School of Darun Najah Sekampung East Lampung needs update materials relevant to their school settings and environment. The students need the material that includes Islamic context to facilitate students to understand the material presented.

Also, shalawat and salaam are always spread to our great Prophet Muhammad SAW, who has brought us from darkness to light. These instructional materials were conducted by the researcher to meet the needs of Junior High School students in the Islamic context in Darun Najah Sekampung East Lampung titled "English Course Book for Junior High School Islamic Students of Darun Najah Sekampung East Lampung" .

During the writing of teaching material, the researcher received a lot of help from a number of people for their valuable guidance, corrections, suggestions, advice and golden support.
