TSI / Harland Snodgrass Media Gallery - Chen Wang Date: October 1-7, 2019
Time: All day
Location: TSI / Harland Snodgrass Media Gallery Harder Hall, John Wood Studios Lobby
Sponsored by: The Institute for Electronic Arts
TSI / Harland Snodgrass Media Gallery for the week of October 1-7 will feature WIP The Sin Park by recent institute for Electronic Arts, NYSCA - Electronic Media & Film, Artist in Residence, Chen Wang.
Wang uses a number of technologies in her media-art work including painting, 3D modeling,
costume/sculpture fabrication, video and performance. The video is marked by costumed performance with gestures of dominance. Chen then coyly couples a visually appealing, dense and highly saturated mise-en-sc ne with these gestures/behaviors, in an allegory on power dynamics within intimate and sexual relationships.
Chen Wang (b.1991, China) is a multimedia artist who currently lives and works in NYC. She received her MFA in Photography from RIT in 2018 and BFA in Painting from VCU in 2014. Her work has been exhibited/screened internationally including China, UK, US, Sweden, Venezuela and Greece. Chen has been a participant of Shell House Arts, Catskills, NY; The Studios at MASS MoCA, North Adams, MA;
chaNorth residency, Pine Plains, NY; Vermont Studio Center Fellowship, Johnson, VT; NYFA Immigrant Mentoring Program, Brooklyn, NY.

Open Enrollment 2019
Open Enrollment this year will be from October 23-November 10. Open Enrollment is a period where benefit eligible employees can make changes to their benefit elections or sign up for our benefits plans if you have not previously enrolled. During this period, you may add or remove eligible dependents, and change your benefit elections, with changes made during Open Enrollment going into effect on 1/1/2020.
Human Resources is excited to announce that this year our benefits enrollment will be through an online portal called PlanSource. The enrollment can be completed from any computer anywhere. We want you to know that is perfectly acceptable for you to complete this enrollment during work hours.
The PlanSource portal will open on October 23 and close on November 10. All changes/elections must be made during that time and through the online portal. If you miss Open Enrollment, you will not be able to make any changes until Open Enrollment during 2020, unless you have a life event throughout the year.
New York State College of Ceramics employees, please note that all benefits minus health and dental must be processed through the PlanSource platform, and you must participate in Open Enrollment.
We will be hosting a Benefits Review and Introduction to PlanSource on October 14, 2019 in Nevins Theater in the Powell Campus Center. Relph Benefit Advisors (our benefits broker) and a representative from OptumRx (prescription) will be on campus that day to answer any questions you may have.
The sessions will be held at the following times (each session will be the same, please come when it is convenient to your schedule):
10:20-10:50, 11:20-11:50, 1:20-1:50, 2:20-2:50
With this new platform, we know that employees may need help to navigate it or have more
questions, feel free to attend one of our Open Labs, which will be held in Herrick Library 106. You will receive 1 on 1 support from a member of the HR team.
October 22- 11:00am-1:00pm October 25- 2:00pm-4:00pm October 28- 9:00am-11:00am October 31- 1:00pm-3:00pm November 5- 1:00pm-3:00pm
A separate email on 10/23/19 will be sent to all benefit eligible faculty/staff with information on how to log on to the platform. This email will come from the PlanSource platform.
