Importance of LaTeX and MS Office 2007/equivalent (FOSS) Word as word processors, details of the three tasks and functions that would be covered in each, using LaTeX and word - Accessing, viewing toolbars, saving files, Using help and resources , rulers, format painter. Week 15 - Orientation to Excel: The tutor should communicate the importance of MS Office 2007/equivalent (FOSS) Excel as a spreadsheet tool, detail the two tasks and the functions that would be covered in each.

Week 16 - Task 2: Calculate GPA - .Features to be covered:- Cell reference, Formulas in Excel – average, std. Students will be given model power point presentation to be repeated (exactly how it is asked).

TRADES FOR DEMONSTRATION & EXPOSURE

The objective is to find the relationship between the variables x and y from the given data (x,y). This topic covers methods for finding the roots of an equation and solving a differential equation. Results: From a given discrete datum, one will be able to predict the data value at an intermediate point and by curve fitting, one can find the best-fit formula for an assumed relationship of the data variables .

After studying this section, one will be able to find the root of a given equation and find a numerical solution to a given differential equation. One will be able to find the expansion of a given function by Fourier series and Fourier transform of the function. Differential equation for an unknown function with many independent variables and to find their solution.

Therefore understanding the nature of the equation and finding a suitable solution is very essential. It is an essential requirement for an engineer to understand the behavior of the physical system.
