INTRODUCTION
Meaning of Psychology:
Psychology is an academic and applied discipline involving the scientific study of mental processes and behaviour.
Psychology also refers to the application of such knowledge to various spheres of human activity, including relating to individuals‟ daily lives and the treatment of mental illness. Occasionally, in addition or opposition to employing the scientific method, it also relies on symbolic interpretation and critical analysis, although it often does so less prominently than other social science such as sociology. Psychologists study such phenomena as perception, cognition, emotion, personality, behaviour and interpersonal relationships. Some, especially depth psychologists, also study the unconscious mind.
Meaning Of Sport Psychology:
Sport as pastime, recreation, leisure-time activity is a universal phenomenon but sport as competition, is for the genetically gifted, whose number at any point of time may be limited. Most people love to watch sport; they enjoy the thrill and excitement accruing from it. The last five decades have seen sport emerging as a great socio-
cultural as well as socio-economic force influencing human behaviour in all aspects of life, the world over. The impact of this phenomenal change has been equally strong on athletes, spectators, sponsors and administrators. People are associated with sport in different capacities- as athletes, as trainers, as scientists (researchers, doctors, physiotherapists), as championship organizers, as administrators, as tournament officials (judges, referees, umpires, jury), as team management (managers, coaches, captains) and finally as spectators. Where there are human beings, there is behaviour; and where there is behaviour- whether individual or social - there is bound to be psychology, in some form. Psychology changes its hue with the change in situation: In education, it is educational psychology, in medicine it is medical psychology, in industry, it is industrial psychology, in sport, it is sport psychology, so on and so forth. Sport psychology, as such, is a recent addition to the ever-expanding family of psychology.

2 Stress is a state to which the natural body equilibrium i.e. Homeostasis is disturbed caused by any threat to organism. Only some stresses are universal. One stress may be stressful to one person but it may not be a stressful to another. The events that produce stress or the source of stress are called stressors. Stressors come in many forms. They are:
1. Social stressors.
2. Chemical/bio- chemical.
3. Bacterial.
Sports performers at all levels-of competition face the constant challenge of regulating their emotions. For instance, athletes often talk in colloquial terms of being 'over the 'top' (over-aroused) or of not being able to 'get up for competition' (under-aroused). It has long been recognized that anxiety is one of the most powerful factors affecting participation and performance. More than seventy years ago McHale, Chadwick and Taylor (1931) described the negative effects of anxiety on performance in Australian football.
Meaning of Aggression:
Aggression is a part of human behaviour and is necessary for an individual to live and struggle for higher achievements.
Struggle for supremacy, dominance, and excellence in sports obviously involves aggression. Aggression in one form or the other is inevitable and inescapable in sports activities. When hostility takes over aggression, the situation becomes alarming and it becomes an anti-social behaviour. Appropriate level of aggression as permitted under the rules governing the game tend to improve the skill and enhance the effort and on the other hand, high or low level of aggression will hamper and retard the performance in sports.
2. MATERIAL AND METHOD:
45 Academic students and 45 Professional Students of Physical Education of University of Kashmir, Srinagar.
MEASURE:
Psychological Questionnaireto check the Stress level of the Academic and professional students. prepared by Arun Singh Ashish ,K, Singh, and Arpana Singh and R .L.Bhardwaji implemented to
check the Aggression levelof the Academic and professional students.of Physical Education of University of Kashmir, Srinagarto get data.
STATISTICAL TECHNIQUES:
Detailed study of Stress and Aggression was done Population proportion (t-test) was implemented.
3. RESULTS:
In order to understand the nature of Stress and Aggression Level Between Academic Students and Professional Students mean scores, standard deviation obtained on Stress and Aggression scale were computed. Means scores and standard deviation along with t-value have been shown in table 1.
Table No.-1Comparison stress level of Professional And Academic Students
Level of Significance=0.05 Tabulated‘t’0.05 (88)=2.00
Table No 1 reveals that there was difference between mean of Professional group and Academic group because mean of Professional group = 68.24 which is greater than the mean of Academic group= 60.77 so the mean difference where found as 7.45 to check the significant difference between Professional and Academic group the data was again analyzed by applying „t‟ before applying „t‟
test standard deviation was calculated between Professional and Academic group. Where SD of Professional group = 10.218 and SD of Academic group = 7.525 and the calculated value of „t‟
where found 3.95which is greater than tabulated t=2.00 at 0.05 level of significance. This shows that Professional students are having stress level than Academic students.

Table No 2 reveals that there was difference between mean of Professional group and Academic group because mean of Professional group = 93.155 which is greater than the mean of Academic group= 88.97 so the mean difference where found as 4.18 to check the significant difference between Professional and Academic group the data was again analyzed by applying „t‟ before applying „t‟
test standard deviation was calculated between Professional and Academic group. Where SD of Professional group = 15.37 and SD of Academic group = 19.53 and the calculated value of „t‟ where found 1.12 which Less than tabulated t=2.00 at 0.05 level of significance. This shows that Professional students are having Less Aggression level than Academic students.

4. CONCLUSION
With the limitations of the study and from the statistical analysis of the collected data it is concluded that. There is significant difference in stress and aggression level of Professional and Academic students of University of Kashmir, Srinagar.
