Human Detection System

Abstract: Nowadays, Technology is advancing day by day. Most of the thing are done today with the help of technology. Technology makes the things automate and reduce human efforts. Technology plays a vital role in everyone’s life either in the form of comfort or security. To provide a input in enhancing the security, we are proposing a Human detection system. System is based on today’s most popular and growing IOT technology and PIR Sensor. System is operated through wireless network suing mobile phones. PIR sensor is used here to detect presence of human in nearby areas. System generates the alert if presence of human is detected. System ensures the security in restricted areas.

I. INTRODUCTION

IOT is one of the most popular and advancing technology in today’s century. Internet of Things is a device which collects and share data with other devices through internet. Technology is used as many applications such as smart phone, kitchen appliances, sensors, smart devices, cameras, security systems, etc. Technology monitors through internet by the help of sensors. IOT is small but has long wireless range. IOT has a huge radar of application and has proved upto the expectations.

The proposed Human detection system is based on IOT. System is to enhance the technology for security purposes using PIR Sensors. The system provides security in many aspects. Project basically concentrating on following applications such as: In Automobile industry (i.e. in Cars), human detection system would act as an alert, if ignition is turned off in presence of human. This will ensure the safety and will avoid incidents such as suffocation. Human detection robot can be used at the time of natural calamities to save the lives of human. This Robots can also be used to detect the humans by security agency in the war field. This can be used for security purpose in the jewellery shops, museums, restricted areas, etc.

Human detection system is primarily designed to detect the presence of human through PIR sensor. System is in the form of moving robot car on which sensor are build. The system has three sections:

 PIR sensor: Sensor senses the radiation from human body and passes the signal to controller or give logic high.

 Blynk App: It is used to control the system. The input to the system are given through app. Alert is also displayed on the app.

 System robot: It moves around as per the command received.

System robot has PIR sensor built in front of it, to detect the presence of human. Blynk App is a Platform on android of IOT which is used to pass commands over internet. Virtual platform of project is build in app. The command to move robot are given through the app and alert is also displayed on platform. The System robot moves with the help of DC motors. The system robot is designed in a way that it can move forward , backward , right and left. Virtual buttons are displayed on Blynk platform. A red alert is also display on platform which will get activated when a high input will be received through PIR sensor.

The robot will be controlled by manual remote and output is watched through camera mounted on it.

Image processing This system is used to detect abandoned object is human being. It differentates between human being and arbitrary objects. Alert is send to security guard through E-mail or Android applications

III. METHODOLOGY

The system is mainly composed of controller, IOT device, WIFI module , PIR sensors and motors. The controller is responsible for moving the two motors. Input are given to controllers to move motors through the Blykn app via WiFi module. The motors will move the system and PIR sensor build on it will detect the radiations and pass input to controller. The controller will display the result i.e. alert on Blynk app.

1. Power Supply: It is major and initial input to system. Power supply for the project required is +5V for arduino board and +12V for Dc Motors

2. Microcontroller Arduino Uno: It is a 8 bit micro controller with ATmega328P IC build on it. It has +5V operating voltage and +7 to + 20V Input voltage. It has 16 I/O Pins ,6 analog pins and is Arduino IDE programmable

3. ESP8266: It is a WIFI module with RISC microprocessor of 32 bit . It has 16 GPIO and supports I2C functionality

4. PIR Sensor: The PIR sensor is nothing but Passive Infra Red sensor. These sensors work on the principle that it senses the infra red radiation from human being and give the high output. Sensor can sense the human within the range of 20feet. Range can be adjusted manual through nob.

5. DC Motors: DC motor use direct current from battery to generate rotation as output. Its speed can be controlled by variable current. It has operating voltage between +4.5V to +9V.

6. L293D – Motor Driver: The IC L293D works on the principle of Half H-Bridge. IC consists of 16 pins. Two motors can be controlled at a time through this IC.

4.2 Flowchart

V. RESULT/EXPERIMENTAL OBSERVATION

System robot will move as per the command received through Blynk App.PIR sensor mounted on system will detect the presence of human and output be given to controller. Controller will give the alert on Blynk App.

VI.CONCLUSION

The main purpose of Human detection system is to restrict the entry of human in restricted areas. If any presence is detected , alert is generated so that things can be controlled before damage.
