in 1999.SUYAM from the Sanskrit word SWAYAM means self- enlightenment through awareness.We believe that the agent of this awareness and change is Education.
In 2003, Suyam Charitable Trust started the Siragu Montessori School at Palavedu Pettai, for children from slums, begging groups and the underprivileged of nearby villages. In no time, the number of children enrolled increased from 30 to 500 and the numbers are only increasing. The trust also runs the Bharathamatha Primary school at Vyasarpadi with the same aim.

Suyam Charitable Trust is registered as a charitable trust in TamilNadu,India and was established by Dr.V.Uma MBA,Ph.D
Majority of the students of Suyam are enrolled in well-known colleges and
Universities in India and abroad for their higher education. Suyam supports these
students till the completion of the selected course as per their skill and aptitude.
