INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA

Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences

POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

The University invites applications for admission to postgraduate programmes leading to the Mastq's or Ph.D. degrees, on full-time or part{ime basis. The general entry requAements arc as follows:

1.

Agood Bachelor's (Ilonours) degree or its equivalent in a related field from a recognised universily;

2.

Proficiency in English, for candidates applying for prograrnmes with English as the medium of instruction (a minimum score of 550 in the TOEFL, or a

minimum of6.0 points in the IELIS exarninations). Apptcants who have not taken any

of

the above examinations

will

be required

to

sit for the IITIM- administered English Placement Test @PT);

3.

Proficiency in Arabic, for candidates applying for programmes wilh Arabic as the medium of instruction. Successful candidates will be required to sit for the IllIM-administered Arabic Placement Test (APT)

to

ascertain their level

of

proficiency.

I. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Programmes

II. Master's Programmes in Islamic Revealed Knowledge & Heritage

Requirement s: A good Bachelor's degree. The duation olthe Master's programrnes in IRK&H is approximately two years and includes 36 credit hours ofcourse work and thesis (or course work only). The programme is offered

in

three areas: (a) Qur'an and Smnah Studies; (b) Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqhi and (c) Usul al-Din and Comparative Religion.
