PhilRice Isabela embarked on the development and improvement of income generating technologies to surpass the challenge of 1 million per hectare per year. The station has established facilities for the development of technologies such as vermiculture, oyster mushroom and milk mushroom. PhilRice Isabela staff also underwent knowledge rebuilding to enhance and enhance knowledge and skills needed for research and development work.

Weather data collected regularly (rainfall, evaporation, solar duration) from manual instruments installed at the agrometeor station; The maximum temperature was 39.60, recorded in the month of May (the maximum temperature every day was found in the period from 14:15 to 16:00. The minimum temperature was 15.1oC, recorded in the month of January and was found in the period 2 .:45 to 6:30 am.

Upgrading the Palayamanan system to Palayamanan Plus - a large-scale intensified rice-based production system aimed at increasing income and profitability in rice environments through agricultural mechanization and targeted integration and diversification of certain agricultural components to achieve a higher level of intensification and likely allow higher crop productivity, improved resource use efficiency, value addition and marketing. Also, a poverty and unemployment reduction strategy from spin-off agricultural enterprises or rural industries can create employment and income-generating opportunities in the rice-growing communities. With the establishment of the Future Rice Learning Center, rice production activities from seed to seed will be showcased combined with farm mechanization.

This will provide easy access to walk-in visitors who would visit PhilRice Isabela to learn about the science of rice production within one to two hours of briefing and hands-on experience.

Promoting clean GPS for CSR through exhibit

A basic survey was conducted on the awareness and use of agricultural students in state universities on rice and rice-related information. It was found that respondents' information seeking and use are influenced by their desire to help farmers, especially their parents and relatives, improve rice productivity and profitability. World Wide Web and Social Media are not yet recognized by respondents as a source of information for rice and rice-related topics.

However, the survey only focused on information sources available to students and their information source preferences and not on the frequency of information use; To monitor the frequency of use of IEC materials, each. Users of OSIS were encouraged to complete the Literature Search Service to determine their assessment of OSIS. With the result of the assessment form, users rated OSIS as excellent in terms of availability of required IEC material, suitability of available IEC.

To increase the use of OSIS, agriculture faculty members from each state university were encouraged to incorporate the PhilRice IEC materials into their course curriculum. The RICE exhibit included the display of machines developed by PhilRice, such as the Rice Husk Kiln, Plastic Drum Planter, Micro Mill, Multi-Crop Mill, Open Carbonizer, Micro Cultivator, and Laboy Tiller. The booth also plays videos and audios of PalayCheck in Iloc for the National Year of Rice (NYR).

While seeds, knowledge products and souvenir items such as t-shirts, mugs and caps are for sale;

Provision of Timely Agricultural Information through Radio Plug-ins and SMS

Based on texts consolidated by the PhilRice Text Center, a total of 92 message texts (46 registered in SOA and the rest were from other municipalities in Region 02 and CAR) participated in the "Question of the Day" aired every episode. Number of texters per municipality participated in the Question of the Day segment of the Madiskarteng Pagsaka radio program. Total rice yield per area and the problems encountered by each country in setting up the learning area.

All broadcast episodes of the Madiskarteng Pagsasaka program were packaged on a CD and distributed to all participants and guests during the graduation program.

Film making and Documentation – an interactive, entertaining and fast approach in learning rice production

Initial findings showed that for land cultivation, the two-wheel tractor (hand tractor) was mainly used by the farmers (75%), from plowing to leveling, while 84% of the interviewed farmers used carabao only for side plowing. During crop establishment, 92% manually transplant the seedling; while only one out of 926 respondents used drum seeder and the other 74 out of 926 respondents (8%) used manual direct seeding. Regarding threshing, 99% of the respondents threshed the palay mechanically using a thresher or the combined harvester, while only 1% used manual labor for threshing.

Eighty-four percent (84%) of the farmers still used animal-drawn carts for transport activities;. With the establishment of the Accelerated Rice Learning Center, rice production activities from seed to seed will be showcased along with farm mechanization. Collected the agronomic data of different growth stages and evaluated the yield performance of the planted variety.

The data show that the diversity of natural enemies has replaced the diversity of insect pests. While in Group 2, the diversity of natural enemies is greater than the diversity of insect pests, suggesting that a given transplanting date favors the species and diversity of natural enemies as biological control of insect pests;. Coordinated and implemented a planning workshop with 3 DA- research stations RFO2 in the establishment of a learning center.

The productivity of many rice farmers remains low due to the declining profitability of growing monoculture rice. Due to the minimal profitability of monocrop rice, PhilRice has embarked on promoting highly diversified and well-integrated farming systems called Palayamanan in some parts of the country. This concept makes use of the available agricultural resources and highlights . integration between each resource and by-product in the various technology components of agricultural systems.

The project aimed to improve the capacity and productivity of rice farmers; develop and promote sustainable and location-specific integrated rice-based farming technologies developed in partnership with farmers and other rice industry stakeholders; and showcase integrated and sustainable rice-based farming system models that can be adapted by local government units and farmers. Worked with 4 Local Government Units (LGUs) of Itogon, Benguet; Rizal, Kalinga; Lagawe, Ifugao and Bontoc, Mt. Province in conducting training and lectures on PalayCheck and Palayamanan System for farmers in the area;. Rice production practices especially in the highlands are linked to the culture and tradition of the Indigenous Peoples (IPs).

These are usually carried out in small areas in the highlands where most IPs live. She launched the Rice Mix advocacy with a press conference attended by policymakers, researchers, teachers and members of the local media on November 21, 2014 at the PhilRice Isabela Conference Hall.
