DLSL welcomes students back on campus for SY 2022-2023
With warm and festive greetings, De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) welcomed students as they returned to campus again for the limited face-to-face classes last
September 15.
The morning school bell rang once more at DLSL, marking the start of in-person classes for students from preschool to college this SY 2022-2023. De La Salle Brothers of Lipa, Lasallian Partners (LPs), and various student organizations participated in the welcoming of new and old students together with their companions. Help desk booths were also situated in the area to accommodate those with inquiries and those seeking directions inside the campus.
Adding more fun to the opening of classes was the meet and greet with Br. Buknoy (DLSL official mascot) as well as the distribution of free cups of sweet taho for everyone. Moreover, students playing their instruments and the bright-colored drumbeaters with their groovy rhythm hyped up the campus walkway.
Meanwhile, as part of the Borderfree Education Hybrid Learning Modality at DLSL, a strategic learning setup was implemented. For the Integrated School, 50% of students in a class attended the
synchronous session virtually at home. The other half of the class was on campus, together with their teacher. The whole class interaction was made possible through the LED TVs installed in their 21st century re-designed classrooms.
Likewise, college students with laboratory subjects also attended their first day of in-person classes on campus.
With the students returning to campus, De La Salle Lipa is optimistic about having more active involvement and collaboration within the entire Lasallian community and is hopeful of a continuous path to the new normal in the delivery of quality education.
Forward We Go:
DLSL’s 4 Areas of Focus
As another academic year began, Br. Edmundo “Dodo” Fernandez FSC addressed the Lasallian family during the Institutional General Assembly last September 9 at the De La Salle Lipa SENTRUM.
“I would only look at DLSL with loving eyes, give our
students the best possible education and give our
personnel and staff the best possible care.”
Br. Edmundo “Dodo”

Strengthening the Numbers
Br. Dodo emphasized the importance of increasing enrollment numbers and tracking existing enrollees.
The current average population of DLSL is
10,525, with the college level carrying the school at more than 6,000+ enrollees. This could be improved to 13,000.
Tracking the numbers is a crucial indicator of brand equity. The higher numbers show that people enroll because DLSL has a good reputation, known for providing quality Lasallian education at a reasonable
numbers affect the school’s viability and capability to grow. A larger school population also impacts more people in the community as there’s strength in numbers.
Boosting Flagship Programs
Moreover, Br. Dodo
pointed out that DLSL must strengthen the flagship programs to bring top-caliber students who do well in standardized exams and accreditation processes.
Right now, the strongest are Accounting, Nursing, and Juris Doctor. He suggested looking for ways to ensure that these top programs and other programs remain viable and consistently remain the top program choices of people living in the region.
Continuing Digital Innovations
He praised the existing digital campus project and commended how admirable the current setup is, in
particular the online learning modality. The trend now is to go digital for a future-ready for De La Salle Lipa so that
the team and community can collaborate to forge paths while maintaining a strong commitment to serving others. Br. Dodo shared how everyone can move forward.
He also challenged everyone to strive hard in order to provide quality education and achieve unprecedented performance levels by becoming stronger as an institution. After all, DLSL is more than just a school campus but a bastion of wisdom, learning, and knowledge.
there must be a seamless integration of applications like HR systems, SIS, LMS, paperless transactions, and cashless transactions.
Building New Learning Spaces
Finally, education could not foster if there were no new educational spaces to inspire students. Older classrooms have to be modernized and replaced. It is imperative to work with existing resources by tightening belts and avoiding taking loans. To facilitate this project of building new and improved classroom spaces, split scheduling of students on campus is recommended.
In closing, the Brother President stated, “I would only look at DLSL with loving eyes, give our students the best possible education and give our personnel and staff the best possible care.” Br.
Dodo gave the Lasallian Community hopeful remarks that ignited each one’s excitement as they started another school year.
2022 Institutional General Assembly:
Celebrating success afresh
For the first time in almost three years, Lasallian Partners (LPs) gathered once again at the De La Salle Lipa Sentrum for the face-to-face Institutional General Assembly held on September 9, 2022.
The occasion started with a celebration of the Holy Eucharist at the Capilla de San Juan Bautista de La Salle. The program then commenced at the Sentrum with the entrance of the service awardees dressed in their smart casual attire.
Afterwards, the newly installed 6th DLSL President, Br. Edmundo
“Dodo” Fernandez FSC, virtually delivered his first Presidential Address to the institution, emphasizing his primary areas of focus for its improvement. He also reminisced about his early years at DLSL as a young De La Salle Brother and described the experience as “a nice welcome
prospect” for him. “I had good memories here (DLSL) and it ranks up there as the best years of my life,” he added. He concluded with his promise of looking at De La Salle Lipa with “loving eyes” and giving the students and LPs the best possible education and care, respectively.

Atijon emphasized the importance of one’s integrity, dedication, and sense of camaraderie in one’s career. Also, Mr. Alex T. Lucero shared how he was inspired by the former DLSL President Br. Rafael
“Rafe” Donato FSC to still pursue and finish his studies. Lastly, Dr.
