GOD’S WORDS FOR TODAY (Lk. 8:16-18) The Holy Gospel according to St. Luke

16 "No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, that those who enter may see the light. 17 For nothing is hid that shall not be made manifest, nor anything secret that shall not be known and come to light. 18 Take heed then how you hear; for to him who has will more be given, and from him who has not, even what he thinks that he has will be taken away."

REFLECTION:

Jesus remarks that nothing can remain hidden or secret. We can try to hide things from others, from ourselves, and from God. How tempting to shut our eyes from the consequences of our sinful ways and bad habits, even when we know what those consequences are. And how tempting to hide them from others and even from God. But, nonetheless, everything is known to God who sees all. There is great freedom and joy for those who live in God's light and who seek his truth. Do you know the joy and freedom of living in God's light?

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus, fill my heart and mind with your light and truth and free me from the blindness of sin and deception that I may see your ways clearly and understand your will for my life. Amen.

Talk on Biology CAPSTONE Initiative for Senior High STEM Strand and Selected College- Biology Students

Lasallian education pioneers in providing quality instruction that augments with real- life situations where students acquire knowledge and skills beneficial to the field they are likely to venture in the future. Likewise, it adheres to the principle that learning does not just take place in the four corners of the classroom; more so, exposure outside the

(7)

confines of the classroom through encounters with experts in various field is deemed significant in their academic life. In this regard, this seminar will equip Lasallian learners with adequate knowledge about a specific area or field of science and draw inspiration from speakers/ experts which may guide them in conceptualizing topics or areas of interest for their CAPSTONE Initiative. The aforementioned seminar will be conducted by an alumna, Dr. Myra Hosmillo together with a fellow expert, Prof. Ian Goodfellow.
