GOD’S WORDS FOR TODAY (Lk. 9:46-50) The Holy Gospel according to St. Luke
And an argument arose among them as to which of them was the greatest. But when Jesus perceived the thought of their hearts, he took a child and put him by his side, and said to them, "Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me; for he who is least among you all is the one who is great." John answered,
"Master, we saw a man casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him, because he does not follow with us." But Jesus said to him, "Do not forbid him; for he that is not against you is for you."
REFLECTION:
What can a little child possibly teach us about greatness? Children in the ancient world had no rights, position, or privileges of their own. They were socially at the "bottom of the rung" and at the service of their parents, much like the household staff and domestic servants. Jesus elevated a little child in the presence of his disciples by placing the child in a privileged position of honor at his right side. It is customary, even today, to seat the guest of honor at the right side of the host. Who is the greatest in God's kingdom? The one who is humble and lowly of heart - who instead of asserting their rights willingly empty themselves of pride and self-seeking glory by taking the lowly position of a servant or child.
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, may my love for you express itself in an eagerness to do good for others. Amen.
Prayer of St. Gertrude
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.

2 4. From the ISFSA
The Mass is first of all a sacrifice — the perfect sacrifice, created by Jesus. Through the priest we offer Jesus, Body and Blood, to the Father, just as Jesus offered Himself to the Father on the Cross. In an unbloody way, we repeat — make present — Christ's death and Resurrection. Through this memorial of Jesus, we offer God our praise, sorrow for our sins, and deepest thanks. https://www.catholiceducation.org/en/marriage-and-family/parent
Warmest thanks to the Social Studies department for sponsoring the TGIF Mass- “@1 with the Lord in the Eucharist”
last Friday. Please be guided by the following schedule. Kindly assign lector, commentator and choir for the said celebration. May our little sacrifices bring bountiful blessings to all of us including our families and loved ones.

On Block Rosary
The month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. This is primarily due to the fact that the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7.
https://udayton.edu/imri/mary/o/october-month-of-the-rosary.php
One of the activities of the ISFSA is the Block Rosary. We would like to solicit the support of all Lasallian partners to be with us in transferring the image of the Blessed Mother from one faculty room to another. The ISFSA representatives through the spiritual committee will lead us in this devotion. We consider this day a special visit of our Mother to our home/offices. It may also be a high time for us to have “Huntahan at Kapehan” after the prayer service. In this form of fellowship we could set aside our concerns and relax for a while with the presence of our mother who always give us comfort and care.

FROM THE OVCA –JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL COMMUNITY:
From the Assistant Principal
1. It is quite saddening to know that during the 2-week Intramurals, there was a big number of reported incident of losses which are attributed to stealing. Stealing is the deliberate taking of someone's property without
permission. It is against the Ten Commandments of God. No matter how protective or careful a person is of the things he/she owns, if someone will deliberately take it, it will be useless. Students need to be reminded of the importance of respecting other people’s property. They need to learn that other people’s property should be treated with as much or even more respect than they show their own belongings. Finally, they need to learn that there are rules and laws that protect other people’s property and that there are real consequences if they don’t.
Always remember that God sees what others can’t and don’t.
In relation to this incident and to avoid losses, students are advised not to bring certain valuable items to school so that the potential for having items taken is eliminated. Likewise, students should avoid bringing unnecessary electronic devices, as well as large amounts of cash.
