GOD’S WORDS FOR TODAY (Lk. 10:25-37) The Holy Gospel according to St. Luke

And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" He said to him, "What is written in the law? How do you read?" And he answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself." And he said to him, "You have answered right; do this, and you will live." But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" Jesus replied, "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a priest was going down that road; and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was; and when he saw him, he had compassion, and went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; then he set him on his own beast and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, `Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.' Which of these three, do you think, proved neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?" He said, "The one who showed mercy on him." And Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."

REFLECTION:

Jesus truly identified with our plight, and he took the burden of our sinful condition upon himself. He showed us the depths of God's love and compassion, by sharing in our suffering and by offering his life as an atoning sacrifice for our sins upon the cross. His suffering is redemptive because it brings us healing and restoration and the fullness of eternal life. God offers us true freedom from every form of oppression, sin, and suffering. Are you ready to embrace the cross of Christ, to suffer for his sake, and to lay down your life out of love for your neighbor?

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus, free me from every fear and selfish-concern that I may freely give myself in loving service to others. Amen.

Prayer of St. Gertrude

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.

2 On Block Rosary

One of the activities of the ISFSA is the Block Rosary. We would like to solicit the support of all Lasallian partners to be with us in transferring the image of the Blessed Mother from one faculty room to another. The ISFSA

representatives through the spiritual committee will lead us in this devotion. We consider this day a special visit of our Mother to our home/office. It may also be a high time for us to have “Huntahan at Kapehan” after the prayer service. In this form of fellowship we could set aside our concerns and relax for a while with the presence of our mother who always give us comfort and care.

Today is the start of Mama Mary’s visit to our faculty rooms. May we be guided by her in our spiritual journey. The following offices will be visited: GS- SAC’s Office, JHS- Principal’s Office, SHS – AP Office, ASF & ASP – LRC 1 The next offices to be visited will be announced by the leaders of the team for your reference. Thank you so much and may the Blessed Mother always intercede for us.
