GOD’S WORDS FOR TODAY (Mt. 6:7-15) The Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew,
Jesus said to his disciples, “In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
This is how you are to pray: “Our Father in heaven hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, you will be done, on earth as I heaven. Give us today our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and do not subject us to the final test, but deliver us from the evil one.
If you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive your transgressions.”
Reflection:
“This is how you are to pray.” Jesus taught his disciples how to pray, how to speak to a God so great that we as people are seemingly insignificant in his sight. Yet, Jesus, called Jesus, “Abba”, Daddy or perhaps if he was Tagalog, he would have said
“Itay”. God is great and we are seemingly insignificant on his sight, yet, God’s live for us is so great that he asks us ton call him
“Itay”, for each and everyone of us is not insignificant to God. Each and every one of us is loved by God, a Father who cares for His children. As one Lasallian community of disciples of Jesus, we are children of God; let us treat each with that same love that God has shown us.
Prayer:
Let us pray…
Heavenly Father, help us to love each other with a brotherly and sisterly love as you love us and in our love may we grow ever closer to you and your son, Jesus. We ask you this through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
St. John Baptist de La Salle…….Pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts………… Forever!
