Abstract

Male participation during childbirth

is very

important

to

their transition to fatherhood. The objective of this study is to determine the attitudes and needs

of

fathers

in

childbirth participation. A

quantitative,

descriptive

correlation study wils used.

The participants were selected fathers aged 15 to more than 48 years old regardless

if

they are first-time fathers, second-time

or

more by referral system under non-probability sampling (n=100). The

rsults

reported that majority of fathers (72Uo) attitude towards childbirth participation is positive. Th"y aspire to provide successful suPPoft

during childbirth to their

partner

and to their

transition to fatherhood.
