This study assessed the present health related qoulity of life (HRQOL) of patients undergoing hemodialysis maintenance
in
Pampanga aswell
asthe
nursing care theyreceived. Furthermore this study also assessed the correlation between the quality of life of the patients and care behavior
of the
nurses. One hundred patients undergoing hemodialysis maintenance were includedin
the study. Data were collected through the Kidney Disease and Qgalityof
Life-
Short Form v1.3 (KDQOF-SDwhich is
a self- administered questionnaire that assesses the HRQOL of chronic kidney disease patients specially, those who are undergoing dialysis and Caring Behaviors Inventory 24 (CBI-24) a 6-point Likert's scale instrumentthat
assessesthe
nurse caring behaviors. Mean ofcentral tendencies were obtain along
with
standard deviation, Pearson-r was use to assessthe correlation of HRqOL and nursing care behavior.
Results indicate that low KDQOL score were reported by the patients. Furthermore, high CBI scores were reported.
In
addition, thereis
weakor no
correlation benveen the HRQOL and the nursing care behavior. In totality, patient undergoing haemodialysis inPampanga suffer from poor HRQOL and this has weak or no correlation to the nursing care
their
received. Neverthelessthis

focus on rendering qua1iry nursing care, but

provesthat we
should pay our attention to the predictors and bekin
on assessing our patient's needs, verbal or none verbal. Keywords: quality of life, hemodialysis, care behavior, chronic kidney disease
