ABSTRACT

The appropriate usage

of

language as a

vital

element

in

communication _is indeed

a

cleat

indicator of

human

cognition. The ability of an individual to

suitably express

his

ideas

in a

target language shares

the

same imporfance

in

communicating. It is with this

regard

that the

researcher aimed

to

established

possible relationship of speech competence and conation that might

be contributory to the enhancement of the speaking skills of language learners.
