Summary

The extracts from the roots of Mallotus nanus, including the ethanol (MNT), n-hexane (MNH) and ethyl acetate extracts (MNE), were evaluated for antioxidant activity, cytotoxicity and antimicrobial activity, in term of the percentage of free radical DPPH scavenging potential, the antioxidant activity of MNE was the highest (83.59%), fowllowed by that of MNT at the concentration of 500 pg/mL (50.9 %), while the MNH showed no DPPH antioxidant activity. All of these extracts showed very strong cytotoxicity on KB cell lines with tC^ values of 0.79 pg/mL; 0.13 pg/mL and 0.30 pg/mL for for MNT, NMH, MNE.

respectively. The extracts all hardly exhibited activity against the tested microorganisms.
