This paper uses quantitative method with the combination of Pooled OLS, fixed effects model (FEM), random effects model (REM) lo analyze financial reports of 350 non-financial companies listed in Vietnam over the period 2012-2018 so as to point out the relationship between free cashflow and financial efficiency of these companies. Assuming the presence of information asymmetry in financial markets in developing economies could limit access lo external financial sources, the results show that (i) Free cashflow has a negative impact on the financial performance of lisied companies in Vietnam; (ii) Companies generating strong growth will obtain more benefit from the flexibility provided by free cashflow.
