Ngo Due Minh College of Technology - TNU This paper combines the traditional method to analyse grid and Matlab simulation that present basic operations of power system in a simple model using FACTS technology. Main contents include: Building a typical ciosed grid model provided from standard diagram of IEEE to serve many different researches; Analysing grid, evaluating factors that affect on power flow in grid, and considering a particular factor being node voltage; Using STACTCOM-PWM in FACTS technology to compensate reactive power in grid to adjust node voltage and power flow on the line; Simulating closed grid in Matlab/Simulink having STATCOM-PWM in forming multilevel inverter; Analysing and evaluating received research results and proposing further researches.
