In the knowledge-based economy, the value of tangible assets is decreased and replaced by intangible ones such as trademarks, patents and trade secrets. Intangible assets are all created by talent. Aware of the importance of talent, organizations and businesses are increasingly paying attention lo this crucial resource and shifting traditional human resource management lo talent management. In this article, the author discusses the concepts of talent and talent management, presents the currenl situation of talent management in the world and in Vietnam, summarizes the research situation on talent management in Vietnam and suggests some research directions for further studies.
