6.2. Keterbatasan Penelitian dan Saran

1. Penelitian ini menggunakan jumlah sampel yang sedikit.

2. Pemeriksaan rasio neutrofil-limfosit yang dilakukan sekali tidak dapat menggambarkan status inflamasi jangka panjang dan tidak mampu menggambarkan progresi kolateral arteri koroner dalam beberapa tahun.

3. Sampel pada penelitian ini tidak menjalani pemeriksaan IVUS (intravascular ultrasonography) untuk meniai kolateralisasi koroner. Baku emas pemeriksaan kolateral adalah menggunakan penilaian hemodinamik intravaskular (indeks aliran koroner) yang diperoleh dari pemeriksaan IVUS.

4. Penelitian ini tidak melibatkan penanda inflamasi yang lebih spesifik, seperti serum CRP, fibrinogen dan interleukin.

5. Pemeriksaan rasio neutrofil-limfosit ini bermanfaat untuk memprediksi keadaan kolateral berdasarkan status inflamasi. Pemeriksaan ini murah dan mudah didapatkan. Dengan mengetahui status inflamasi, keadaan kolateral arteri koroner dapat dinilai sehingga dapat dilakukan upaya yang berguna untuk menurunkan status inflamasi dan memperbaiki keadaan kolateral arteri

koroner. Upaya-upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan pemberian terapi high-intensity statin dan peresepan olahraga yang sesuai untuk pasien.
