As a responsible employer, Astra constantly strive to provide the work environment that is safe, healthy and comfortable for its employees. In addition, the
managementaspectsofOccupationalHealth&Safety (OHS)throughtheimplementationofGreenProcesscan
also utilize the potential losses due to a decrease in work efficiency; thus it will eventually have a positive impact on Astra productivity and business performance.
Following are the data on the number of occupational accidents cases at Astra Group, in 2012 and 2011.
In2012,fatalaccidentswerereducedby25%,serious accidentscausinglostofdays(morethan1x24hours)/
loss of limb/disability/loss of body function declined by
20.21%, minor accidents that are not causing lost of days declined by 42%, and ire incidents declined by 16%.Therefore,theaveragereductioninaccidentsthat occurredduringtheyear2012amountedto36.1%.

Traffic Incident Reduction Program (TRIP)
InordertoachievethehigheststandardsofEnvironmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies, the TRIP program is
implemented to reduce traffic incidents at the mine site
of Kideco District, which in 2011 recorded 136 trafic incidentsor76%ofthetotalof177incidents.TheTRIP programaimstoimprovethe4aspectsrelatedtotrafic
incidents, namely understanding of the critical risk of
traficattheminingarea,EHScompetency,besttrafic practiceattheminingarea,andthedevelopmentofEHS responsibilityandcultureamongallemployees.[LA8] Penurunan Total kasus kecelakaan dibanding tahun 2011. Reduction in total accident cases compared to the year 2011.

Hingga akhir 2012 program TRIP menunjukkan hasil-
hasil menggembirakan, yaitu traffic incident turun menjadi 105 incident, jumlah terendah dalam empat tahun terakhir. Fatigue incidentjugamenurundari16
kasus di tahun 2011 menjadi 12 kasus di tahun 2012. Berdasarkan pengujian PVT (Phychomotor Vigilance Task)diketahuibahwakinioperatorbekerjalebiheisien
dengan kecenderungan fatigue berkurang.
Ergonomic Friendly Mengurangi Potensi Lower Back Pain dan Kecelakaan Kerja
Lower Back Pain(LBP)ataunyeripinggangbawahsering
terjadi karena posisi dan beban kerja yang tidak ergonomis, serta mengakibatkan kerugian kehilangan jam kerja dan biaya penanganan yang tinggi. PT Aisin Indonesia, produsen suku cadang kendaraan, menjalankan program
Ergonomic Friendly untuk mencegah penyakit akibat kerja dengan pendekatan administratif dan engineering,
hasilnyaterdapatpenurunankasusLBPdari214kasus ditahun2011menjadi97kasusditahun2012,serta berkurangnyapotensilokasikerjapenyebabLBPdari7 lokasimenjadi3lokasi,setelahdilakukanperbaikanposisi danbebankerjadi4lokasiselamatahun2012.[LA8]
Inovasi Egrek 2T Guna Menghindari Kecelakaan Kerja dan Mendukung Mobilitas Pekerja Panen Inovasi dilakukan oleh PT Gunung Sejahtera Dua Indah
terhadapalatpanenEgrek.Melaluimodiikasiiniterciptalah Egrekyangmudahdibongkardandirakit,sehinggaaman
dibawa ke lokasi panen menaiki dengan sepeda motor, serta tidak harus menggunakan truk. Inovasi ini mengurangi risiko kecelakaan kerja di perkebunan sawit Borneo 1,
Kumai–KalimantanTengahdanmemperkuatkebijakan
“No Safety, No Production” yang dianut perusahaan, serta
meningkatkanproduktivitaskaryawan.[LA8]
Program Tertib Lalu Lintas Perkebunan (TLLP) Wilayah perkebunan sawit Area Borneo 1 PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk sangat luas yaitu 55.000 hektar dan memiliki
jalankebunsepanjang40.000kilometerdengan2.000 perempatan. Mengingat tingginya volume kendaraan
milik 10.000 karyawan serta rendahnya kesadaran keselamatan berkendara, program TLLP difokuskan pada seluruh karyawan dan keluarganya. Program dimulai dengan sosialisasi secara intensif melalui berbagai media cetak dan luar ruang, pelatihan berkendara, kurikulum tertib lalu lintas di sekolah, serta patroli dan penindakan
tilang di jalan. Hasilnya selama tahun 2012 terjadi

PT Gunung Sejahtera Dua Indah conducted an innovation
ontheharvestingequipmentknownasEgrek,whichis
modified so that it is easier to assemble and dis-assemble, thus making it save to be carried to the crop site using motorcycles instead of trucks. This innovation reduces the
riskofaccidentsinBorneo1palmoilplantationinKumai -CentralKalimantan,aswellasstrengthenthepolicyof
“No Safety, No Production” adopted by the company

Plantation Traffic Discipline Program (TLLP)
The area of palm oil plantations at Bromo Area 1 of
PTAstraAgroLestariisextensive,coveringsome55,000 hectares with 40,000 kilometers of roads and 2,000
crossroads. Given the high volume of vehicles belonging to the 10,000 employees, as well as the poor driving safety awareness, the TLLP program is focused to all employees and their families. The program begins with an intensive socialization through various print and outdoor media, as well as training on driving, traffic regulations

UT Sangatta Berbudaya LK3
ProgramBerbudayaLK3dijalankanseiringmeningkatnya
aktivitas PT United Tractors Tbk - Site Sangatta di
penambanganKPCKalimantanTimur.Tujuanprogram
adalah mengurangi Lost Time Injury atau cedera hilang
waktu serta membangun budaya LK3 bagi seluruh
karyawan. Program ini dilakukan dengan pelatihan
safety behavior, pemilihan karyawan teladan di bidang
safety, fatigue management dan melakukan supervisi karyawan baru. Selain itu, berbagai pertemuan sharing
dan koordinasi antar pihak di operasi pertambangan secara rutin diadakan, mulai dari pelaksana dan terus
berjenjangketingkatmanajemen.[LA8]
Crane Pupuk (Crapu) atau Alat Muat Pupuk Mekanis Guna meningkatkan efektivitas pemupukan manual tanaman kelapa sawit, Astra Agro Lestari menerapkan pemupukan mekanis menggunakan Fertilizer Spreader Canycom yaitu sejenis kendaraan beroda rantai penabur
pupuk. Karena posisi wadah pupuk yang tinggi,
penggunaan Canycom ini tidak ergonomis dan berisiko
kecelakaan kerja. Melalui inovasi dirancanglah Crane Pupuk(Crapu)atausejenisderekbertenagamesinlistrik
untuk menaikkan pupuk ke Canycom secara aman, lebih cepat dan efisien karena hanya membutuhkan 1
karyawandibandingkan3karyawan.[LA8]

EHS Culture Program at UT Sangatta
TheEHSCultureProgramisheldinlinewiththeincreasing
activities at the United Tractors - Sangatta Site of the
KPC mines in East Kalimantan. The program aims to reducetheLostTimeInjury,aswellastoinstillanEHS
culture for all employees. The program involves training on safety behavior, selection of best employee in safety competition, fatigue management, and supervision on new employees. In parallel, sharing and coordination meetings between the parties in the mining operations are routinely conducted, ranging from field operators and
continuingtoalllevelsofmanagement.[LA8]
Fertilizer Crane or Mechanical Fertilizer Loading Equipment
To increase the effectiveness of manual fertilizing of palm oil trees, Astra Agro Lestari applies mechanical fertilization using Fertilizer Spreader Canycom, a tracked-vehicle that spreads fertilizers. Due to the high position of the fertilizer containers, the use of Canycom is not ergonomic and also accident-prone. The Fertilizer Crane is an innovation, being an electric engine powered crane to load fertilizer into the Canycom in a safer, faster and efficient manner as it only requires 1 employee, whereas previously it
